How do you take a good selfie, or picture in general to make yourself look amazing?!

Figure out your best angle with good lighting?

I'm not a selfie pro or anything, but standing in front of a window always helps. Try it during different times of the day to see what's more flattering for you. I prefer morning personally. A slightly but not overly extreme high angle will slim the face and make the eyes appear bigger. Also, practice your smile in front of a mirror. A real smile will always look better than a fake one. Aside from that find what's best for you, which ways to tilt your head how to do your makeup etc. here's one of mine for an example. Once again, I'm not a pro. I just have (too much) experience

Always use natural lighting I.e outside by a window etc.etc. find an angle that you like and that flatters your face. Just experiment until you get the hang of it.

Natural lighting and best angles. Mess around with the lighting on your camera. Taking pictures outside is also good cus you have all-natural lighting so it won't turn out orangey.

Natural lighting and be careful of your background! There are a lot of selfies with laundry hampers and shower curtains in the background. I like to take photos against a white wall or in front of my printed tapestries. That way the viewer is focused on you, not what's behind you!

Hello Sydney!
I say it comes down to xperimenting and personal preferences. I personally HATEE natural lighting. It's to unpredictable, the sunlight changes every minute, so you may apply your make up when it's sunny, but by the time you finish it's cloudy. It's just wayyy unpredicatble for any make up photography. I really love the idea of flashbox and softbox lights, I haven't bought any yet but I have made a DIY flashbox and I use that now for my photography. I wouldn't suggest making your own, unless you have an electrical side experience, and even then I'd be careful. I study an electrical engineer/business management degree with electives on robotics, so I have some idea what I'm doing.
Anyway, getting back onto topic. The lighting of a flashbox or even just by using bright lamps for lighting does a really clean neat and predictable lighting set - up.

Some other tips:
- angles: difference angles will compliment your face shape
- slight lift of one brow or left brow: can really make a difference in photography of eyemake up particularly

Test out different lightings and angles and find one you like. I don't think there's a perfect selfie pose or anything. just go with what you like yourself best in.
