So everytime I try a different heatless curl, it just doesn't come out right. I had to wet parts of my hair to make it decent. Any suggestions? My hairs naturally curly/wavy but I wanted to try other curl styles. Thanks.

I left the knots in overnight (not very comfy). & here they are taken down in the am.

Have you ever considered flexi rods? There are plenty of Youtube tutorials on how to use them, and I've been meaning to try it out but I get very busy and distracted =)

Have you tried rods?

I haven't tried those yet, so far I tried the mini braids several times and bantu knots once. I applied curl cream and coconut oil before hand but stil just came out ehhhh.

I loved doing headband or T-shirt curls when my hair was longer - they always turned out great. It just depends what type of curls you're looking for. For looser waves, I would suggest doing 2-3 fishtail braids.

Sock curls work the best for me

The sock curls never come out right for me either. I think my hair is just not capable of a different curl. Its always frizzy or matted after attempting different heatless methods. Lol I guess I'll just have to stick with my natural curls. Plus I can't french braid. :(

My favorite way it to section my hair in two parts, down the middle and French braid each side on damp hair. In the morning I have beautiful loose curls. :)

Just saw that you can't French braid, I'd look up some tutorials on YouTube. If you can braid, it's very simple to learn :)

Yea, I need to learn! Cuz I'd love to braid my hair if I could!

If you have wet hair and put it into multiple small braids, twist them like you did above, let them dry over night and get the rest dry with a warm-cool blowdryer, then spray some salt/ocean spray or flexible hairspray, you should get a nice slightly messy wave/curl.

The curls came out gorgeous until you wet them. Wetting is just going to matte your hair, take away softness, kill the curl and bring on frizz. I'd have just used a pick or fingercombed without water. You can always add a dab of argan or apricot oil to your fingertips to kill frizz and loosen curls.

Knotting and twisting is tough on the hair shaft and can cause breakage. It is counterproductive to the purpose of avoiding heat.

Jumbo foam rollers or loose braids are great. With excellent heat protectant, hot rollers are fine for most people's hair. I swear by them.

I had trouble with sick curls at first too, but I find the results very much depend on the way you rap your hair around it, try to make sure your hair is flat as you curl it around the sock instead of twisted, and I get much better results if my hair is 90% dry

Definitely don't use coconut oil before hand. that'll way it down making it harder to keep curl. Also don't wet it after.

Firstly don't use coconut oil. Its a sort of hindrance for getting good curls.. Then try the T-shirt method.. My hair are somewhat silky and bit wavy yet the curls turned out great..
