Personally Ulta, there overall cheaper and have the exact same things as Sephora. Or at least where I live.

Sephora. Their rewards and samples are better. You don't even get to pick what samples you want on Ulta's site when you order, its just a random grab bag which bugs me because there are certain things I actually want to try but never get them from Ulta. I have only used one of the samples I ever got from them. I like being able to choose for myself when I check out. I also like the feel of a Sephora store much more than any Ulta I've been in. I have had some of the rudest employees at Ulta where as at Sephora they have always been pleasant and helpful. I have been ignored completely in Ulta when I was the ONLY customer in the store. That is just not okay with me. I have since had a better experience at a different location but the repeated bad experiences at the previous location still have made an overall negative impression unfortunately. The top 3 reasons I ever go to Ulta are 1) because its my only option lol 2) for Nyx products 3) for Real Techniques

I have had more experiance in Ulta and it is BY FAR cheaper than Sephora. I guess it really depends on what products your looking for. Ulta has most products, but it you are looking for something hard to find or "rare" try Sephora.

Sephora. Simply because the staff at every location I've been to has been incredibly rude and unhelpful. They're also weird about returning products half the time. You could try both though, because some brands aren't available at Ulta that are at Sephora and vice versa.

Ulta. I love when they have the "12 product beauty bag w/ a purchase of $30" and when they give your free gifts, like right now it's a bracelet and some other items come with sample sizes of makeup and stuff. :)

Sephora because every time I go to Ulta they are so rude to me. They treat me like I'm a little kid coming in who isn't going to buy anything so they completely ignore and help 'older women', like they don't even say hi when I come in, but they say it to everyone else. And this has happened at several different locations, not always the same place. I also feel like the girls at the main Sephora I go to, know more about the makeup, than the girls at my Ulta. I like Sephora simply because they are more friendly and they have a better variety of the makeup brands I like. I mean I still go to Ulta but I prefer Sephora.
