So, I will be moving to a new town and will have to quit my current job that allows me to have coloured hair. I'm scared I won't be able to find a place that allows me to have coloured hair in the town we're moving to...

Is the area you are moving to more conservative than where you are now? I know that here, pretty much the only places that will hire anyone with unnatural hair are tattoo studios. Even Hot Topic has a dress code, because the demographic here is very traditional/conservative.

It depends on where you're moving to and how conservative they are. I live 10 minutes from DC and have a lot of chains in my area for a lot of stores. One store may have a drastically different set of standards from another store (Starbucks, Hot Topic, Books a Million, etc). So you'll really just have to scope your area out.

Depending on how old you are, a bar or small music venue is a safe bet as well. My boyfriend's roommate has amazing brightly colored, waist length hair and other than performing with her band or belly dancing/fire eating, she has jobs at a bar and a sewing studio. So check bars, music venues, tattoo shops, small alternative boutiques, record stores, and local art studios like the pottery studio you work at now =)
