Absolutely. I used to be a hair focused person but makeup has becoming just as important to me. When I usually look at someone I sort of look at their hair and know the specs of it in like 2 seconds. Now I'm doing the same and zooming in on their makeup skill

^ also I would like to point out whether it's good or bad. It doesn't just caught my attention if it's bad but If I see someone with it well done. I appreciate that. Not to be so negative about it

I've always noticed even before beautylish. I'm no pro though so I have mess ups like anyone else. The only lip liner thing used to be a trend back in the day I think. So that's probably why it's still around but I do agree it doesn't look very good. I haven't really noticed anyone that stood out with really horrible brows though. I also agree with symone but I notice makeup more when it's really good vs when it's bad.

Hannah w I agree about being your own person. there's basic ideals about makeup to follow...but you have to to know your face is an original and what works for others may not work for you! I totes feels ya...

It's just awful when the same generic answers are given over and over, like one size fits all. That's my number one pet peeve.

YES!! Since I know a lot more about beauty and makeup since joining, I now notice a ton of mistakes or whatever in peoples makeup. I'm constantly thinking of ways to maybe mak the look better.

Well here is the thing what's wrong to you others may like. So it's not wrong to them. I feel with makeup and beauty there is no "wrong way". Just like there is no set brand to use there is no set way to do things. Unless someone asks what's wrong I think it's quite mean to pick out what people do "wrong" so much as what could use improvement. But that's my personal opinion.

LOL some of the pictures are funny though. However, I haven't seen anyone yet on beautylish looking that crazy!

YES. Now I carefully study everyone's makeup and think like "The application is off" "Should have blended more" etc. I actually feel really bad when I do it. But now it's a habit! 😔 and I'm not saying by any means my makeup is always perfect because it isn't. We all have our days! I just would love to give some pointers.

I feel like I always paid attention to peoples makeup before Beautylish.. but I feel like I am noticing makeup in more of a positive light since being on here. Its not necessarily that I'm noticing it more now, but I am definitely appreciating good makeup application and interesting looks more now than ever.

YESSS! I saw a lady who had BLONDE hair and use black eyeliner to draw on her brows, with arches like the mcdonalds sign. I was kind of like, WAT! I've been paying attention to my makeup A LOT more, I am more meticulous than I used to be! I'm neater and much more careful! I find myself , like Amanda said, studying others makeup application, and thinking not so nice thoughts! But then I realize that I used to be that person, with the orange foundation and bronzer that I used for contouring! Sometimes we just need a little more education before we throw ourselves into makeup! I haven't tried doing my brows until lately because I was afraid they'd look horrific, so I did some research and I'm confident they look okay! It's all about trial and error. But I am still , try as I might, judging others on their makeup, and sometimes I think about giving pointers, and I realize that I don't even do half the makeup they do, so how do I tell them? I have no idea, anyways I've learned some awesome stuff from the oh so helpful ladies here and it has helped me improve my application times a thousand!

I always pay attention and I think it's kind of fun to see what others do, try and guess how they do it, and just look at their style. I often see bad makeup at school (high school) but that's when lots of girls learn what to do. If a girl is willing to try something bold/neutral/whatever and wear it to school kudos. Beautylish has trained my eye even more. All in all it's fun to see what people like to to.

Haha love the brow pics!! Lol I think this trend of drawing fake eyebrows on like in those pics makes you look like some kind of clown, why can't they realize that it looks awful!

This is hilarious! I've noticed it since before beautylish mainly because I work at ulta so almost everyone who comes in wear makeup. its always the brows that seem to be the easiest for people to go overboard with.

Very interesting ladies,I must say I'm glad people have noticed the overrated highlighted brows and Poop stained contours lol but I must ask then why have sooo many not so great makeup looks get so many LIKES on the popular picture forums and I noticed even (some) of the males get out standing likes and raves for mediocre makeup yet the wonderful great makeup job from a female gets less and not nearly great compliments.
