I don't shop at Sephora a lot but when I do my sister and best friend tell me I need to stop wasting my money on makeup.
I usually feel guilty afterwards... What about you? Has someone ever told you to stop wasting money on makeup? Of so do you take it into consideration next time you go shopping?

If you are using and loving your products, they aren't a waste. People usually spend money on something, whether it's sports, decorating, cooking, cars, pets etc., but they rarely see the value in someone else's hobby. As long as you are enjoying the things you buy and can afford to, let them keep talking.;)

Alll the time! Lol I never feel guilty. I feel like everybody has that one thing that they'd spend a lot of money on. While some people spend $50 on video games or shoes I'll spend it on eyeshadow. Kinda like what erica just said. I love makeup and I hope to one day make it a major part of my life.

My bf compairs my skincare/makeup habit to an addiction like crack lol. I don't worry about it. both are a huge part of my life and I enjoy it to no end. if you have the money and aren't going into debt over it. I'd say shop away and enjoy!

Yes my man tells me that because all of our money goest to sephora and ulta and I do feel bad 😢 but I get over it and start shopping on line minutes laters and go to the stores lol😝

My boyfriend just smashed my makeup drawer, I'm still devastated. Most of it was gifts and things I had a while or it was inexpensive, I'm still in shock, I'll never so buying makeup, it's my hobby, I enjoy it, I deserve it. It's not like I have allot or even a lot of expensive stuff. So yeah sometimes Told me but I work hard and makeup is what I enjoy.

Every day! My mom and my boyfriend. They team up on me all the time, "you don't need makeup" yet when I do my makeup my boyfriend loves it. Ugh so annoying

He bought nee done new things but I cried hysterically, I'm still not over it, I was so disrespected and it was the collection I was building little by little I can't believe I have to start over, I'm definitely not over it and if I want crying so hard I would've tackled him! This was just two nights ago.

Haha my mom always tells me too. But probably because I use to buy products just for the hell of it, compared to now, I only buy things if I have read good reviews on them because I have wasted so much money on products that were crap. But I still go insane with buying makeup, skincare, and haircare products but I do it in a more reasonable manner now lol

I'm so sorry to hear that alyssa hopefully he keeps buying you more to makeup up for it, shit take advantage of this and ask for more expensive things that you want to make up for it and tell him thats the shit he fucked up I'm sure he won't tell the difference lol drag his ass to sephora ulta maycs lol keep crying and act mad play it up lol... Alyssa, first of all congrats on your sobriety, good health is the best cosmetic. secondly, your boyfriend was way out of line for destroying your things. Hopefully he doesn't have a violent streak, if he does, GET OUT. Anyway, you can build up your collection again and he should help you with that. Best to you.

All the time however they say the same about my cosplay and think it's ridiculous I spend $200+ on an outfit I wear once or twice a year. But my family does think it's better than doing drugs and honestly my hobbies of makeup and cosplay are more expensive than drugs anyway.

I have a hard time spending for myself. often my friends have to talk me into it. lol. However my family has solved that problem by buying me more products then I will probably use in the next year!
I most likely will share what I don't think I'll use with some of the girls I work with (I do part time street outreach) my family knows I love to share..
I feel a bit like my family should not have wasted so much money on "things" however it made them happy to spoil me rotten and so I have to honour that.
Alyssa, I am proud for you! sobriety is a major accomplishment! beware - your bf's behavior raises red flags; which could lead to relapse. stay safe.. I trust you are a smart woman.

@lilli lori & shushoni, thank you guys so much, it is a mission and a lifestyle, a lot I've learned can be used by everyone just to live better in general, but yes he is a hot head, and I do watch it, I've never been a woman to take abuse, even when I had no self esteem at my bottom, when it's not right you know it! and I'm not afraid to do what's best for me, the way I need to live my life revolves around doing what's best for me to live a HEALTHY and gadfly life and I hope no woman reading this ever lives in fear of starting over or doing what's best for your life, you always have more strength than you know!!
But I do however hate that I'm starting my makeup collection over! Lol but I've learned allot on this site and in general to rebuild an even better more suitable collection, #lifelessons lmao :)
