Didn't know if I should put this in beauty or makeup. Okay so this has been bothering me on here, and I know sometimes its just because of new people on beautylish. If you are going to post a MOTD please list the freaking products!! And preferably the brand (I would actually like color names too...) of the product not just "mascara and eyeliner" because that doesn't tell me anything! Sorry for the rant but practically (not every) MOTD thread I have seen just today people have to say to please list products. I'm sick of just seeing selfies.

On behalf of the moderators, thank you. I cannot tell you how many times a day I or one of the other moderators comment on threads to ask that they list their products. It does get old very quickly.
Honestly, I would even go so far as to ask for the poster's opinions on the products she used! The more information you have, the more interesting and conversational your thread is! There's nothing wrong with just listing what you used and asking a question, but I would kindly ask the ladies who don't want to post their products to simply post their pictures to the picture section instead.

I agree, and it gets pretty silly repeating yourself all day asking those who don't list products, to list products. I'm not sure how people miss the rules on the app, cause they're always the first things I see lol. It'd just be good if it just happened, tis the rules after all.

With or without the products being listed, its a selfie.. I don't need to see the products used cause you can never really tell how they truly look from just a picture. idc about seeing products or not, I'm tired of seeing selfies.

I don't really mind if they didn't list the product if they were asking a geniune question, or looking for criticism or opinion on something for example 'what can I do to improve the look of my foundation?' or 'what's your opinions on my eyebrows today? Any changes?' or asking how they did on a new technique or style for them.
Maybe we should just ask that people put MOTD just in the photo section, with or without products listed unless they really are asking something or trying to learn/teach something? Just an idea, it doesn't bother me too much but maybe it would stop selfie threads... I don't know..
The posts that annoy me most are 'Give me ideas of something to wear today!' or 'give me makeup inspiration!'. Maybe I'm just old and grumpy but whenever I see them I'm like 'I am not your google. -.-' or 'How am I supposed to know what's in your wardrobe?' either way I'm always making this face -_- lol

I usually don't tag the products because I can't fint the exact one I used...
And also, tagging the products of EVERY photo you upload? No way in hell. You will never see me doing this, Ain't nobody got time fo' that!

Aferdita, we weren't talking about tagging the products in a picture on your profile. We just mean the threads in the talk section because when someone posts "MOTD" in the talk and only adds a picture to it it's not beneficial to anyone and clutters the topics, your pictures are completely fine :) I never even look at what products people tag on pictures but that's just me haha when I'm going through the photos section I'm looking for ideas. Your last comment made me laugh though haha.

Yes! And @Caitriona, I don't really mind if they are asking questions for improvement but it drives me crazy when it just says motd and their pictures, I take it as they are just fishing for compliments (which isn't necessarily a bad thing when the products are listed) but a lot of times I want to recreate the look or try that lipstick shade, but then I have no idea what products they used. Its so irritating because other threads with actual questions get unanswered because of their selfies...
