My mum made sure I was washing my face atleast thrice a day since I was 9, its really helped my skin. Personally, I don't think skin care wipes are a good option cuz they were made for emergency and on the go use, they leave behind residue. What I would suggest is that you ask her to use a mild cleanser that doesn't lather much so you don't have to splash too much before bed, like the body shop tea tree cleanser, and follow up with a moisturiser also by the same line, it takes less than a minute to wash my face and apply the moisturiser, at first its hard, I have a verrrrry demanding engineering job and trust me I know just how hard, but once you are determined, you will benefit from the habit. Also, she would inevitably treat you as a role model so make it a habit to remove makeup atleast when she's around, my mum always does, no matter how tired. At first I hated her for pressing me into following the routine but having suffered from horrible cystic acne when my derm says my skin hasn't scarred much, I thank her.

Oh and, mum made sure I didn't start exfoliating until I was 16, she was super strict about it, is really important to protect young skin.

Another idea, if you feel tired at the end of the day, then wash your faces when you're just coming in from work or dance classes etc., and won't be going out anymore for the night, skip the moisturiser for a few hours. Then, just before bed, rinse your faces with water and pat dry, apply moisturiser and sleep.

And no matter what happens, do not use any products that make skin photosensitive on her young skin, they might help acne but will make her skin super sensitive in the long run since she's really young and would need to go out in the sun a lot through school and university. So no salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, kojic acid, glycolic acid etc. products for the kiddo! (hehe I am a tyrant sometimes, zowwy about that. ) There's a gentle moisturising gel by sebamed that helps with acne too, safe on young skin, also,100% coldpressed grapeseed oil and jojoba oil are verrrrry effective on acne and moisturize as well, all being decently priced. Also,15% tea tree oil by the body shop for spot treatment. Sorry, I am such a chatty cathy lol.

All she needs is a gentle cleanser and moisturizer cetaphil or cerave and the best thing you can do for her is get her into using spf daily it will save her skin in the long run ,and never use body soap on your skin it just dries your skin out and going to bed in makeup is a no no lol.

*hides* I'm a bad girl... I know... okay, so...I'm on the right path at least with not having her use all that rough stuff and stripping her skin. :) Thank you, my dears! She's been using my Neutrogena cleanser for normal skin lately. I'm pretty adamant about sunscreen for her as she's very pale and gets sunsick easily. I was about ready to strangle my ex for sending her to daily summer camp without sunscreen or even a water bottle (not to mention a bathing suit), but we worked around it. There's no stopping Momma Bear when she gets her Italian Jersey going! lol.

I'm in agreement with Traci. I have a 14 year old and I have her on a super basic program. Cleanse, tone and moisturize. She has an acne spot treatment and a clay mask she uses once a week to keep her pores clear. I won't amp up her products till she's 18.

Thanks ladies! My friend was all about the heavy duty stuff and I figured it'd be counter productive. Yet I want to be pro-active because kids can be so cruel these days.
