haha. I guess technically you are helping someone out when you subscribe to their blogs. I think beautylish is a great platform for beauty bloggers to share their blogs. It is really hard to get followers otherwise.

As long as people aren't running around to every thread saying "OH HEY, CHECK OUT MY BLOG" or starting a new thread for every single blog post they make, I don't see a problem with it... I like how it's mostly contained to the "Introduce yourself" part, because I feel like that makes sense. Anyway, if you can't share your blog here, how are you going to get out there?

Those people who post the SAME comment whoring their blog in EVERY topic - even when it's unrelated.

Oh & those who try to be creative & say

"lol OMG TRUE! Go read my blog at www, asdfghjkl,,com etc etc"
"YEAH UR RIGHT Go read my Blog at www,sdfghjklo.com etc etc"

Don't pretend to contribute - we know what you're doing. lol

Definitely nothing wrong with your sharing your blog or Youtube channel, but it's sooooooo repetitive now. I barely go under the "Introduce Yourself" thread anymore unless I'm welcoming someone to the site. lol

Beautylish should have private profiles. Or at least the option to have them private only. Another Pet Peeve is getting emails when you have a follower and when you go check that person isn't following...happened to me twice i got a follow notice twice from the same people and twice they unfollowed me. Not sure what that is about

Just wondering... why do you want the option of having a private profile?

I hear ya about the blog promotion. I really think Beautylish should have a signature or something like forums usually have. Then, you could put the link to your blog or youtube in your sig (along with whatever else) and it will show in each comment without people having to promote it in the actual text of the comment :)

Also still waiting for an easy way to link blog posts in profiles like they have for youtube vids! lol

I actually like that people can promote their blogs. I have found some really great ones that with out Beautylish I might have never seen.

@Raisa I actually don't mind sharing my stuff bc I like to share :)
Anyone can sign up here, I really don't want to go into too much details because it is sort of personal and dont want to be negative at all :) Hope you understand.

On another note, I like that people can promote themselves but not every discussion bc I get bombarded with emails & they have nothing to do with the topic.

I wish I could quote things here. That'd be nice. :D

quote meaning? changing status and stuff to that nature?

Andrea - Same here! Or a reply option in the forum.

My pet peeve is when one gives advice and you think that it is the wrong advice. LOL. But everyone has a different outlook on different things.

@ Andrea G I agree 100% on the blog post. I started seeing that a lot lately.

I think the privacy option here is simple. don't post things you want people to know or pics to be seen. There are plenty of other social networks that have the options of putting your profiles private. This site was built for the beauty community that are willing and able to share in the beauty world : )

Theresa- I agree with don't put what you don't want people to see but that doesn't mean people wont download information.

It is what it is; on any website you join..you join for the purpose of sharing what you have in common but then eventually its get polluted.

Anywho I am here because I like it and want to be here..No one will deter me from that. I am speaking in general..

@ Mirna If there is a will there is a way. Unfortunatley you have people that go above and beyond to look for information. Some people just never get satisfied. But at the end of the day you have to ignore those people.

Who matters don't mind and who don't mind matters.

Your quote says it all. "Don't let the expectations of others dictate your to do list... :) Prioritize your life from within"

I don't mind people promoting their blogs/YT, but I wish they would just leave it in the Introduce Yourself or like Nykki does and do it like a signature or something. It's annoying when people will comment on your stuff promoting their crap and it has nothing to do with what you asked. :( Or when you click on a topic, like Monica said, and it's just them promoting their newest video.

Oh, also I hate it when people post something in General that obviously should've gone under another category.

Omg, haha, i just realized how sarcastic that probably sounded. Yeah! I think yours is in the right category!

I'm all for promoting blogs, but I do agree that it's ALL over the place and at times can be a bit much!!

Some of the responses above made me LOL!!

I still wish there was a separate section on Talk for blogging and Youtube discussions. *nods*

Another thing is copying-and-pasting blog posts in posts. Not necessary, IMO. If I want to read your blog posts, I'll go there to do it.

@Mirna: I think Andrea means she'd like a "Reply with Quote" option when replying to posts, so she can respond to something specific someone says. Right now, your only option is to copy-and-paste it in your own reply and try to set it apart from your own content.

Maybe i'm just a Facebook addict, but i wish you could "like" people's replies on articles and in the Talk section too.

Thanks Shelly for the clarification and That sounds good bc I am always looking to reply. Or when you start a discussion you should be able to upload a picture instead of posting again

My Beautylish pet peeve is the same on any message board - people who start new threads on a topic that already has a recent thread on the same matter. Do we really need 2 or 3 threads on the same eyeshadow discussion? Example, say person 1 posts about finding and using an eyeshadow by "Pretty Darn Cute Cosmetics" (name I made up) and there's already a discussion on it when person 2 does the same thing. Do we really need two threads on the same thing? Other than that I don't have any pet peeves here at Beautylish. lol

I take that back there is one more pet peeve... people who come here ONLY to sell their Avon, Mary Kay, Mark, etc products. They don't discuss the products they're selling they just push their link for people to buy and then start several threads on it in the different areas with just a link to their Avon/Mark/Mary Kay profile. Wish Beautylish had a "commercial" section for people to post only in there that kind of stuff.

I did? I try not to start new discussions and will search first for a topic, it's another pet peeve of mine to do that! LOL. If no topic is made then I'll start one or post a link to my blog where I've discussed something.

I think that we should be able to "like" things and reply to people in the talk section! and as for pet peeves, it makes me angry when people rudely disagree. If you're not going to agree with someone, please do it politely!
