1. Drink lot's of water. Dehydration causes chapped lips often.
2. Have you tried Carmex (unflavored version) yet? I've found that carmex lip balm always worked by moisturizing my lips and it has a lot of other healing properties to it :) I put it on religiously everyday.
3. Are you on any medications like accutane? One of the side effects is chapped lips.
4. Finally, if all of the above don't work/apply, try 100% lanolin. This works very well to moisturize and protect lips.

Hope some of this helped :)

Buy this and never look back. This is my favorite lip balm ever! I was hesitant because there was so much hype about this product and I thought "meh its just another lip balm". I found that most lip balms just create a smooth layer on your lips instead of actually conditioning them. This lip balm actually heals them. I highly recommend it. http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P12573

thanks ladies, i'll try everything at this point. :)

I have chapped peeling lips from being on Accutane. I usually exfoliate them every day after the shower. I put a lip balm on before I shower (I really like RoC's Enydrial Lip Balm), then right after I shower I use a baby wipe to exfoliate the dead skin and apply more lip balm. I also find that thick glosses help to keep my lips moisturized throughout the day. Unfortunately, no amount of water is going to keep my lips moisturized.

I use badger brand lip balm from ulta in poetic pomegranate... The seabuckthorn in it has been the best thing to ever happen to my lips... Which I used to think shed like a snake every few days to a week... This stuff healed me up, and I love using it after the shower. Don't forget to rub the dead skin off ur lips with that band on the edges of your towel, then apply the balm before u sleep.

Thanks again ladies.

@Heather! wow! I'm a fan of yours, constantly watch your vids on YouTube. Thanks for the help.

@Soma, I might try to get that online because I live in the Middle East and things are quite limited around here.

@Nikki, cool! I've got a bottle of pure vitamin E in the fridge, might try that when i get home.

Hi Meg, I use a product called Homeoplasmine by Boiron on myself, models, and brides. This stuff has been my savior. You can buy it at Whole Foods, it's a natural ointment (safe to use on lips) so it's not sold as "lip balm" and it's cheap! Hope this helps!

Try using a sugar lip scrub(the one I use is from Lush) and then I use Korres Lip Butter after.

Hey girl! I am also a victim of constantly chapped lips, and it was super-bad when I was on Accutane. Let me tell you, it was not pretty. Especially since I have big lips!

The best thing I have ever used is Aquaphor. Cheap, water-based, and definitely moisturizing. You can exfoliate your lips by adding a bit of sugar to a bit of Aquaphor and have a sweet moisturizing treatment. It's also best to put on a lip balm immediately after showering or onto wet lips so it will bind the water molecules to your skin! The Jack Black product Alexis recommended is also nice, but it does contain menthol which may contribute to the chapping and irritation of your lips.

I agree with Alexis. I have SUPER dry lips I was constantly buying new lip balms and nothing quite worked. I tried the Jack Black lip balm and wow this sutff is awesome :) its a tad pricey but so worth it!

My son had really bad chapped and bleeding lips during winter and the pharmacist recommended LetiBalm Peadiatric. It's all any of us use now. I don't know if you'll get it where you are. See http://www.leti.com/eng/der_prod_edit.asp?id_prod=120&id_canal=30.

I chuck on a good amount of Vaseline before I sleep and find that it definitely helps! Also, make sure you carry some sort of lip balm with you at all times and DO NOT lick your lips, it makes it worse.

Neosporin overnight renewal therapy is amazing, I used to put on chapstick or gloss literally every 5 minutes but only need this just a few times a day and once at night

i exfoliate my lips using sugar, honey, and lemon juice..just mix up a small amount of paste, rub on lips in a circular motion (tastes yummy too lol), rinse well, then I rub a bit of olive oil on my lips :)

Drink lots of water, and stay away from foods with high amounts of sodium. Any skin resurfacing products that you may put on your skin at night, may move around your face and dry out your lips. I actually use bag balm at night to moisturize my lips, and I swear by either bigelow mentha lip balm, or lypsyl balm during the day.

1.Use lip balm to promote healing and prevention of chapped lips. This is almost vital in the process of moisturizing your lips. Know about lip balms here: http://bit.ly/1BU0VFa

2.Lip lickers also tend to be lip biters. Biting lips removes their protective covering which causes further drying.

3.Use a soft toothbrush to softly buff your lips to remove the deposit of dead cells that will cause more drying and flaking.

4.Creamy lipsticks can act like balms and prevent your lips from chapping. Avoid using lipsticks that can dry out your lips.
