I barely shave my legs. I know, ew. But, it's a problem for me.
I shave, even after letting my hair follicles soak / steam in warm water or mist...and then shave. With or without shaving cream, it doesn't matter. The next day, it's all back! Obviously not fully, but I have to shave again.
Same with the pits, but I just keep up with them. :P
The thing is, I have a bad bad bad back and can't bend over to shave them hairy things. Especially on a daily basis!
Does anyone else have a hair growth problem? Do you have any advice for me? I've used cheap razors, expensive razors, nair, mens razors...meh!
Help. :)

Waxing at a cosmetology school is far less than at a salon. Check out your local beauty schools (if any). If not what about products like Nair or Veet? Both you apply to legs like shaving cream but let it eat the hair away. Downside those with sensitive skin may find their legs breaking out into a rash.

try exfoliating before shaving. it'll scrub away any dead skin cells and more of the hair will be at the surface for you to shave away.
i have a huge issue with my left hip and can't reach my outter left leg so i tend not to shave my legs more than like once a month. i exfoliate first and then use eos shaving cream. it's like a thick lotion and really smoothes my legs. i've found my legs stay smooth a few days longer when i use that.
hope that helps :) not sure what to tell you about your underarms.. id look for a deodorant that will help keep the hair thinner so at least it's not so noticable if you forget or don't have time!

Twizzie...I totally understand you. I feel like my legs are prickly again as soon as turn off the water in the shower. LOL. I have tried Veet and it kept me fairly smooth (by my own prickly standards) for a few days (only on my legs, I just keep shaving my underarms daily). I don't have the courage to wax so I just keep using razors (can't even remember why I stopped using Veet) to keep the stubble at bay. Maybe one day someone will gift us laser hair removal. :-)

I know it's expensive but you could get laser hair removal. My step mom got it and she loves not having to shave! Other than that I would recommend getting waxed.

BAH! I am so scared of laser anything LOL! I'll definitely exfoliate, and I'll try using veet. I've only done NAIR and it always breaks me out! It's horrid.
Thank you :)

If you have the pain tolerance to yank out bunches of hair when tweezing, epilators aren't bad at all... eventually, you will become used to it and it won't hurt at all...
Waxing isn't bad, but it is SUPER messy... carpets BEWARE! One spill, and it's OVER... =(
I'd love to laser... but it's still a bit pricey. =/
Epillators are really convenient though. Maybe I'm a little weird, but I think it's a little fun. =P

Epillators are a good way to go, although they hurt the first few times! I love using it for my arm pits.

Waxing is a good option, but for me it's such a drag to schedule an appointment and then go to it and not miss it because you'll be very hairy if you do! :)
So I find the best way yo go is to use an epillator! Because you can do it in the privacy of your own home and at a time most convenient for you!
But beware of ingrown hairs! From my experience you get more ingrown hair from epillating than waxing, thus it is very important to use a really good scrub on a regular basis to avoid this problem! Exfoliation is key!

a little off topic....i can't help but laugh a little at the mention of an epillator. when i was a teenager my mother got one as a gift and i remember trying hers out, i came out of the bathroom with tears in my eyes and one hairy leg to find my mother laughing so hard cause all she heard was short screams from me in the bathroom. that was painful...i couldn't even finish the other leg (but it did work and my mother used it for years and had smooth legs for several days). okay...now i'm going to be quiet and see what other ladies suggest as i'm eager to try new things myself (okay, maybe not the epillator again). ;)

I have the same problem, it grows back in the next maybe two days! And I'm only 15, it sucks because at this age u wear shorts and non sleeve shirts all the time.

Ever tried sugaring? Look it up! It's super awesome and doesn't hurt at all. It's basically like waxing, but instead of one painful swipe its a few painless ones. It's all homemade and cheap too! Sugar, honey, lemon. It's wonderful. I would DEFINITELY look it up and give it a shot! Very happy I did! And much like waxing your hair grows back less and less!

I will have to try some of these suggestions because I shave everyday. I can't stand the feeling of stubble against my pants and I have a bad lower back too.

Don't be scared of the laser, it's a great option! It's pricey and a long process but the end result is so worth it! It feels like quick little rubber band snaps against your skin but its over before you know it. If you do try it, do your research and go to a certified medi-spa in good standing. Good luck :)

I've waxed, sugared and just got an epilator. I like the epilator because it doesn't make a huge mess like waxing. Sugaring doesn't smart as much, but it might not be getting the hair out at the root. There a recipes and demonstrations on how to make the sugar gel on youtube. I messed it upthe first time I tried to make it. Ulta sells Moom, a brand of premade sugar gel that you use like wax. I think the epilator just stings a little, but I've waxed my legs before, so maybe that's why it's pretty painless

If you can't afford wax or laser hair removal like me, you'll either have to Nair it (but you have to wait for it to grow out each time) or live with it. I have to shave every single day or I'm prickly. And, trust me, I go prickly a lot, especially during the winter. Exfoliating is a good idea, but it made no difference to me. It's just one of those things some of us have to bear.

Perhaps a bath would make it easier to shave and the Venus Embrace is really good!

I have the same problem. What I do is get armpits and legs waxed once every 3-4 months. Between this time I do shave but the hair always grows back thinner and more sparse than before. When it starts getting thick again, I get waxed again! Super easy & like previous people said, try to have it done at a school. Cheap!

please please in eat in an epilator, It's a one off expense so works out cheaper than waxing, and hurts like hell at first but as the hairs get finer it will get less painful till you won't feel it and it takes the hairs from the root so it will look less dark. x
