Hey everyone,
so, I know most people do shop online, and while I do, ONLY if I HAVE to, I am wondering how everyone feels about this. You see, I do not have any patience. This is one of my worst qualities! I can not stand waiting for something. When I want it, I want it right now! So this stops me from saving all kinds of money, because online shopping has so many deals. It just isn't worth the wait for me. You see i just ordered a Cortex 4 in one clipless curler from Folica.com. I am going CRAZY! I can't wait to get it, I can't stop thinking about it. I even dreamed about getting it. This is how bad it is. I am not exaggerating. I really just can not cope with waiting for things to get here! I signed up for birchbox, and am going crazy waiting for my first box to come in the mail!
It has some kind of affect on me, like I want to drive to the companies site and pick up my own package, because the mail takes way too damn long!
Does anyone else deal with this crap? If so, how do you cope? How do you get your mind off of checking the mail everyday -even when you have a tracking date?
This is why I try to avoid online shopping! :)

I prefer to online shop vs. shopping in the store for the most part. The selection locally here is so-so. Plus I find better deals online. I don't like waiting for packages, but I love getting packages in the mail! :)

I also only online shop if I have to... I actually didn't have a debit card until recently even, so it didn't help I had to go through a friend. >.< I've been ordering a little more recently [things I couldn't get in stores], and now I'm doing my crazy waiting dance. :[ It doesn't help that I had to order my new computer and I had all sorts of issues with that. *sigh*

Oh wow Nykki...it sounds like you have a real challenge with patience and the need for instant gratification. I am not too sure what to suggest to you. You said you were not exaggerating so maybe you can conquer this issue by taking small, baby steps. I am not a therapist or counselor but it sounds like you could benefit from speaking with a professional and discovering what is the root cause of your inability to wait. Hmmmm...on a lighter note. I do shop online and have no problems.

I never order anything off the internet. I love shopping because it gets you out of the house and you can see everything in person and get to spend time with friends/family or whoever is going with you. I don't know, it's hard to explain haha. And also I am VERY impatient too, so I couldnt handle waiting for package to get there.

Raisa, I see what your saying, the only time I shop online is if I can't get it in the store. So if you don't have anything near then you would have to shop online. Ugh. I would go crazy! :)

Kimberly, I agree with you. I think that there is an underlying issue here. Ironically, I am going to school for Sociology and I want to be a counselor! lmbo. I think the best counselors are one's that have been there themselves and overcome it, so I do plan on being able to cope with this! :)

@Nykki - Yeah the selection here isn't the greatest and tax is a bit high too. Like it's cheaper for me to buy MAC online than in a store because they only charge me 4% towards tax instead of the regular 9%. I used to not get charged any tax though.
Lately I find myself buying online more than actually in the store. lol I lack patience as well!

I'm banned from buying makeup online using my debit cards :( I'm so glad my target sells elf... only bad thing is there's so much I want from ulta that is NYX and I can't get it :(

I love to shop online if I am unable to get it locally. But I too have little pacients waiting for certain things that I know I could have gotten much faster if I went to the store.

Macbook Pro... Apple took 2 days just to process the thing. ]: Thanks to that, it should be getting here the day before I move... cutting it a bit close.
Oh, other thing I hate about shopping online more than anything else... not being able to see the products in person. I like to get a better feel for what I'm buying. =/

I love shopping online. In fact, I prefer shopping online versus going to the stores. I think you get better deals online. I am impatient, but not too bad! I have plenty of other things going on that distract me I guess.

i guess it doesn't matter to me. i only do online shopping if i've got a sweet coupon or it's the only way i can get an item. i'd rather save the money & wait a few days verses going & buying it full price to have to play with then.

Soma, my problem is that I don't have Patience, so patiently waiting for me is not possible. I am sure when i get it I will be extremely gratified, but until then I am miserably waiting. I hate online shopping.

I'm on the fence when it comes to online shopping. I do love the fact I can shop online at stores that are either not in my country, not around my area period, or I can't find what I'm looking for at local stores. Problem is, I'm very picky when it comes to sizes. I like certain things bigger and certain things smaller, depending on the type of clothing. A lot of stores sizes run weird so I don't know how to shop in it online as far as sizing. I hate returning things because it's such a hassle and I'm lazy. haha.
Patience is a virtue. I don't really mind waiting. But I do understand when you're waiting for that thing you've been saving up for! It's killer. lol.

i am a bit impatient too, but not that much ha ha ha, I just wait to get my hads on the package and I get more excited when I have to open, it is like Xmas for a lil kid :D
Mostly I shop online because I don't have to look around too much :p, but if is clothes I preffer the mall :0...
but if you want to take your mind off the mail, try a funny movie works for me =D

I treat online shopping like Christmas - you're excited at the thought of getting it, you wait a week or two to receive it & then when you finally get it, it's like OMFGSDFGHJK<3 XD hahaa
I shop online for almost EVERYTHING now (expect clothes) I used to shop for makeup &/or accessories ONLY in person, but I've shopped for these things online so much that I'm able to find WAY better deals than I would in stores. (Expect NYX, I have this tiny little shop by me in Downey, CA that sells NYX WAY cheaper than Ulta or CherryCulture. XD & yes, it's heaven. lol)
I would rather wait than having to pay more - plus, it's not like I don't have other makeup to keep me company. lol
Plus, I have this HUGE thing for Asian wholesale makeup from Ebay. I want to try them ALL out. I can't help myself.

i absolutely love online shopping, and it gets easily addicting! and i can totally relate to you Nykki because i am not a patient person AT ALL, and that is a huge problem for me, even the people around me get annoyed, The worst thing about online shopping is waiting for the package on the day its suppose to come, sometimes i am not home, and no one else is and the mail man would have to take the package back, and like come the next day, that sucks so bad, but i love ordering online because i feel like i get my products fresh, and nothing has been touch, like at a store, but its hard sometimes buying makeup since you have to wait to see if it matches you
To cope honestly, i just keep reviewing my orders, or i keep tracking it, lol

Lmbo. Andrea that is true, I need to treat it like christmas or my birthday - which is Friday btw! lol. So I will be recieving this around my birthday...I just have to keep thinking like that and I should be fine! (:

Online shopping has been my addiction lately. I'm so glad that I have a debit card to use. If I used a credit card, my parents would DEFINATELY be bankrupt by now!
