Can this at all be possible? Instead of using a base base (like the nyx eyeshadow base) ? Advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Yeah, you can! I use gel liners like cream shadow bases and eyeliner pencils smudged across the lid in the same manner. Works just as well, if not better!

oh my goodness. you know how long i asking this question now? i want to try out the la colors jumbo pencil eyeliner in whatever shade. trying to experiment with products while trying to save some money... :-) so with the pencil, you can line it, smudge it then put on the eye shadow colour?

Yessiriee! Works well, and the powder helps set the pencil and creams, which prevents them from creasing. =]

absolutely, just keep in mind that those types of products can often crease, especially if you aren't using a primer underneath.

thank you. i would most definitely use a primer. i have a particular primer that causes my eyeshadow to crease, so what i have done in the interim is use my concealer as a base and i noticed it held it together. the primer alone is a definite no no.

I always use A eyeshadow base with either a MAC paint pot or NYX jumbo pencil. My eyeshadow goes nowhere!

i prefer to use gel eyeliners or paint pots for a colored base instead of a pencil eyeliner or jumbo pencil. i have super, suuuuper oily lids and gel liners and paint pots seem to give a "drier" base as opposed to a creamier jumbo pencil...i get less creasing, but i have just as many color options....coastal scents and ELF have tons of gel liners if you look online.

oh yea, if you have gel liners that are too dried out to use as liners because they pull and drag your eyelid when applying, don't chuck them in the trash! stick your finger in the pot and use it as an eyeshadow base....

Definitely! Especially with a smokey eye look! If I am in a hurry I do this trick. It creates a really easy and quick way to make a smokey eye or create a nice base for any type of eyeshadow...I love Lancome's Le Crayon Khol in Blanc makes a great eyeshadow base!!!! :)
