Chafed Eyelids?! Eek!

I have chafed my eyelids LOL

I was filming a tutorial, well, actually three looks in one-and I think I overdid it because my poor eyelids are red and achy! Ugh!

I hope this is gone by tomorrow!

Oh my gosh, ouch!!!! Definitely try some avocado oil if you can get a hold of some. I use a mixture of avocado, jojoba, and vitamin E. I know lots of people don't like to put oil on their faces, but I love it. Then again, I have combination skin, not super oily skin so I guess it works for me. Good luck, ouch!

Thank you so much, DJ M!

Its much better now, I just thought it was funny ;)

I am not against oil on my face if it helps! I have really oily skin, so I just used a really good eye cream and it went away. Now all I am left with is kind of flaky lids. UGH, but I can work with it.

No more three in a row for me!

You're welcome! Have you ever tried removing your makeup with straight, natural oils? When I do several looks in a row I use straight jojoba oil with super soft cotton balls and gently wipe it off. It REALLY saves your lids. Good luck!

I use aquaphor and protopic(given by the dermatologist)

DJ M,

No, I haven't tried just oil, but I will have to do this next time I am doing more than one look at a time. With work and family--and life, sometimes when I get the chance (and quiet) to film, I take advantage of it! Haha!

Myrna, what is the second thing for? Eyes?

Stephanie- Protopic is for the eyes...it is sort of like aquaphor just a bit stronger and better. You can only use up to twice a week and very little.

Myrna, sounds interesting!

Everyone, thanks so much. I have been fine all week but will def use this advice in the future!

I have eczema mainly on my arms, but last year I had a problem with it on my eyelids... I used Spectro Eczema Care cream on my eyelids. I put it on before bed and when I woke up it was all cleared up. That stuff is a miracle worker.
