So how do people use this? Put on a cotton swab and swab it all over your face (after washing it). Do you gals use it day and night?
I've been coming to this site multiple times a day, since I found out about this site. I read some of the users using Witch Hazel, and I even see it's part of people's regimines, so I got some today at CVS. I just don't really know where to start.
[BTW, love love love this site. Being a mama it gets tiring and *ugh when it comes to make up most days. I usually just do my eyebrows, foundation, eyeliner... and that's about it. But after coming here, I've been putting all my shadows/blush/concealor and everything else to good use. =) I'm motivated to look my best everyday. Granted, I'm a mama and a wifey, but I still think it's ok to get dolled up. lol)

I use Witch Hazel and Peroxiode on my face. I usually use the Witch Hazel or Peroxiode in the morning because the Sea Breeze is a little to harsh for me in the morning and it also dries out my skin so I tend to use that at night.
You just wash your face as you would normally do and put a little bit of Witch Hazel or Peroxiode on a cotton ball and clean your face with it. I guess I use it like a toner! :~)

@Andrew B. if you read the labels on some of the facial cleansers you will see that some of them do contain peroxide. People even use peroxide as mouthwash so no it does not kill the skin. I have found that for me it helps to prevent me from having breakouts and I get compliments on my skin all the time.:~)

the peroxide that is used for hair dye is different from the one that is put into skin products and such.

i adore witch hazel! i learned an awesome trick from my old neighbor when i was in college that does wonders for tired eyes. apply witch hazel to a cotton ball (or a cotton pad), enough to douse it, but not too much that it's dripping. then place one cotton ball on each eye (close your eyes lol) and leave it there for about 15 minutes. voila! your eyes are refreshed and relaxed.
i like doing this after having worked on the computer for an extensive period of time or if you have a few minutes in the morning after not having slept very well.

Witch hazel can be used as a regular toner or you can use it to make your own brush cleansing solution, since it's a natural disinfectant. I use Enkore's brush cleanser recipe, but instead of alcohol, I use witch hazel instead since I figure it'd be more gentle. =D
