I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a good face moisturizer? I have oily skin and currently using Cetaphil. I heard that for oily skin it's best to use gel moisturizers. I'm not sure which to try out. Help!

Trader Joe's has a face lotion called enrich. It has vitamins A, C, and E and spf15. It has enough moisture for oily skin, but not enough for dry skin like mine. I hope that helps!

I use Embryolisse in the warmer months, it's enough moisture without being too heavy.

I use jojoba oil found at Trader Joe's and add a couple drops of tea tree oil (also found at TJ's) into the mix as an astringent. It helps contain my oily skin by producing oil my skin needs, so my skin doesn't try to over compensate. I love natural products for my oily skin!!!

@Viet that's a great idea! i never thought of using jojoba oil on my face. sure is a lot cheaper than argan oil. does your face get shiny throughout the day when you wear foundation?

It definitely controls it for me! Of course, it also depends on what foundation I use.

Like Tamara, I am absolutely obsessed with my Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre! I have combination skin leaning more towards the oily side, and the Embryolisse moisturizer is amazing! I definitely recommend it.

I agree with Andrew B. and Kris W., The Body Shop's Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream is good for oily skin. Don't let the "cream" part scare you off- it's more of a cream/gel hybrid that leans more on the gel side. Really good product for such a low price point. For me, my skin is combo that leans more on the oily side, so I usually use the Seaweed Day Cream in conjunction with another light serum or something because I find it's not quite moisturizing enough on some days.
Another good lotion I for oily/combo skin that I switch off to in the summer is Dior's Hydra Life Pro-Youth Sorbet Cream. This is more a true cream/gel hybrid in consistency so I find it's a bit more moisturizing than The Body Shop's. The texture is sooooo lovely though, if you go to Sephora, get a sample and try it out!

Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Oil-free Gel-Cream is great. It makes my skin feel quenched and very soft. It does not leave an oily feeling at all.

Yes, the name's a mouthful but it's designed just for oily AND sensitive skin.

Yikes! Stay away from Cetaphil if you have oily skin. I have super duper oily skin and the best lotion I have found was from Target and it is called Boots Expert Shine Control Lotion. I can't tell you how amazing this stuff is. It is like a gel lotion and it leaves a matte feeling on your face. I also use the Boots Instant Matte before I put on the lotion. They are both very affordable and under $6.00

This is a really great post. I've read each response. I have combo/oily skin and have struggled to find something that really works for me. I currently use Mary Kay Timewise Moisturizer, but am not 100% satisfied.

I wouldnt use cetaphil, it has soybean oil in it i think. id only suggest jojoba oil, just a tiny bit or read my article on oily skin. I'm a licensed esthetician =)
