I feel as though my Birchboxes for the last 2 weeks have been super disappointing. I had called and gotten some advice on tweaking my account so that I'd hopefully get better results last month (you can see my blog post on it here: http://www.makeupchicliterarygeek.com/2011/10/getting-better-results-from-your.html) so now I'm interested to see what I get for November. I see a lot of other makeup lovers getting a bit bummed by their lackluster Birchboxes as well. What are your expectations for this month? Are you excited to see if they finally amp up the products now that the holidays are here or are you feeling kind of "eh"?
I really hope this month is better. I resolved to make a final decision after December's box as to whether or not to continue my subscription with Birchbox in 2012. Hopeful over here, how about you?

I think I am almost over it. My last two boxes were meh. My November box has shipped already so I will most likely be making my choice when I receive it. :(

I'm always excited, I've yet to be *really* disappointed by a birchbox. When I start getting duplicate items like I've seen other people receive, that's when I'll end my subscription!

I actually am excited, even if the boxes haven't been that fantastic I still have liked the vast majority of boxes and products. I was disappointed with Eco-Emi and GoGoGirlfriend that I've cancelled both subscriptions with them.

I'm giving it a couple more months and then I'm done! They have been crappy ever since the Laura Geller blush. Id rather to the TestTube deal :-)

I just finished up my year of the QVC New Beauty Test Tube and I loved it. My test tubes have included laura geller baked eyeshadow, wen, philosophy body wash, nars lipgloss (full size!), Malley eyeliner and lots of other great items. I was never disappointed with it. My year of autodelivery ran out and apparently I missed when it was feaured again because now it's sold out and I can't reorder it :(

Oh...and I have high hopes for this birch box. It weighs 0.5661 lbs. Thats my heaviest one yet...I know thats not a good determining factor, but I cant help it lol

Yeah I think I will start my QVC test tube in January. I just made a decision thanx to this post! I will check out the QVC website and post more info on my blog if anyone is interested. Im excited!

I can't say I'm super excited this month since I haven't been too impressed with my boxes for the last 2/3 months...but I am curious about what's in it. I haven't even gotten a shipping notice yet (and usually I receive my box around this time).
I'm really interested in that Beauty Test Tube...if Birchbox lets me down for November and December I think I may switch to that!

I just got mine. It says box 10 on the package. I received Tay moisturizer container w/just about nothing in it. That was a disappointment. I'm in the process of contacting BirchBox to see what or if they will do anything.
Container was cute btw just had nothing in it.

You pay a certain amount and get a certain amount of products to sample each month. Each company is different - some send out full size items, some send out small samples, some send out deluxe samples. Some work with big name companies and some with indie companies. Each company is different.
I've been subscribed to Eco-Emi, Birchbox, TestTube and GoGoGirlfriend. Of the four I only recommend Birchbox and Testtube. Eco-Emi has a lack of communication with subscribers but the products are nice even if it's not 100% cosmetic/beauty while GoGoGirlfriend really comes off as being Dollar Store items or cheap brands.

My November box was subpar at best. I guess for $10 you can't expect a whole lot, but when my subscription runs out (I signed up for one year), I'm switching to gogogirlfriend. I did the New Beauty Test Tube twice and ended up with repeat products. I do enjoy Beauty Fix a lot and have had 3 boxes or so from them. I recently signed up for the Julep Maven box but was disappointed in the colors - nothing special at all, so I'm canceling that one right away.

I hope I get one of the Zoya Gems & Jewels colors I don't already own. I bought 4 of the polishes the second they went on sale a while back ... I guess this video didn't make me feel any better about my box coming tomorrow haha. Sigh :/

i've heard terrible things about birchbox lately. i was going to sign up a few months back but decided against it.. judging by what you all have to say here, i'm glad i didn't go for it. i don't understand how they could go from great to horrible

@Samantha - Birchbox has it's problems but out of all the subscription companies it's the only one, other than Test Tube, I've remained subscribed to. I hate that with Eco-Emi there is no communication from Christine other than when she posts on Facebook or Twitter which gets lots among other people's comments or that GoGoGirlfriend's products all have a dollar store feel. I'm still irritated that the Tarte lipgloss they sent me had no label on it to let me know what color it was, the weight or any info. The rest of the products were cheap stuff I wouldn't buy or already own.

@Samantha I think one of the issues is that they gained so many subscribers so quickly. The other issue I see a lot is that they don't have enough new companies providing products, so products are getting recycled. I love what I see from some of the subscription services in Canada and the UK, but obviously they don't ship here. I know a lot of beauty lovers that have unsubscribed to birchbox recently, so I can only hope they'll take the criticism and tweak things. If not then I'll end my subscription at the end of this year. Fingers crossed!
