So I don't currently have a blog or make videos but I want to start. I figured it would be easier to get myself started and established with a blog before venturing into videos. Problem is I have no idea where to begin. I am looking for advice on what will be a good host site to use, how to get it started, what kind of things do you put in your first post. Any advice really on what you did when you started your blog. Thanks!! <3

i just currently understand what you mean, i just currently started a blog and the hardest part is keeping up with it, but you should start with small blog topics, like something you currently are loving, great deals you see when you're out and about and eventually things will start flowing. i just started mine and take a look and follow if you like, thanks

I use Blogger which is tied to Google and I love it. its easy to set up and easy to navigate your blog and ones you follow. For your first post I always like when girls tell a little about themselves and how they got into makeup. Do reviews on products you like (even ones you already have!) and makeup looks. Really I think you should post whatever intrigues you! I think the key to a good blog is you do it because you love it and its something fun for you! I also think its great to subscribe to others blogs and have good interaction with them… I have learned so much just from reading others blogs. I have gotten many tips and tricks and met so many awesome girls:) good luck! <3

i would go through the free wordpress site. it's a bit more sophisticated than blogger and you can track stats and how people get to your site. It works well with posting to facebook and twitter as well. You can have unlimited blogs through it that are easy to manage too. I have used google blogger in the past and to me it's the difference between having a myspace and a facebook account. Hope this helps! I have two wordpress blogs:

@Kimberly H. - if you use the Wordpress dashboard, and you scroll down to the bottom right side of the page there is an area called View Stats, if it's closed up, you can click on it to view them! hope this helps. it's such a cool feature

Hey Jeny, I started my blog at the begining of July. So I have only been doing it for about a month. I love it so much! I use blogger, (or blogspot, same thing). I tried using wordpress but it was really confusing. I am really good with computer stuff too. I just didn't want to waste so much time getting used to the platform. Blogger is so easy! I feel like I can do so much more with blogspot. I think that Christina made a good point, it is like having myspace or facebook. However, if you think about it, Facebook doesn't really let you put any character into your page. It is all the same nothing different. With Myspace we were able to design our page and be creative. I think that Facebook is better than myspace for social networking. However, you want your blog to say a lot about you. I am enjoying all of the different thing that I can do with my blogger account! If you have any questions feel free to ask me! :)

I have checked out your blogs ladies and they're great. One problem...for those of you who use Blogger, I am having a difficult time leaving a comment. Its asking for me to "select a profile" in order to leave a comment. None of the "select a profile" options apply to me. What's up with that???
