What do y'all think about blue eyeshadow? There was this tag going around YT at one point that was like "would you rather wear blue eyeshadow or ..." (saying it in a bad way) and then I was watching a smokey blue eyeshadow tutorial last night on YT and the girl said that she doesn't like blue eyeshadow. So I was just wondering what's so bad about blue eyeshadow? What's yalls thoughts about it?

I happen to love blue eyeshadow. But I feel like you have to pick a blue that's good for your skintone. True, anyone can wear what they like, but I feel that if you're going to wear a blue eyeshadow, at least let it be a color that won't look ashy on your eyes. That's annoying. I personally like turquoise, aqua, and darker blues on my eyes because they tend to look nice on me. It's all about personal preference.

Idk why blue eyeshadow has such a stigma around it. I think the determination of appropriateness and tastefulness depends on the venue AND personal taste.
For example, My personal opinion and taste for my own makeup -->:
At the IMATS, fashion shows, night out... anything goes!!!!
At work, school, brunch with the girls.... modest blue liner, smoked out navy peepers, or a touch of blue/aqua/teal on the lower lash line look really smart and different.
Just keep in mind everyone is different and has different tastes. Wear your makeup how YOU want and what coordinates with your style. Do what makes you happy and whatever makes you feel good about yourself!! Forget the haters, it just means they're closed minded! ;)

Blue eye shadow has a bad rep from the 80s so people tend to avoid. I love it but it is harder to use. If you're not careful it can end up looking tacky but there are tons of ways to use blue. You just have to be FIERCE!

I blame Mimi for the blue eyeshadow hatred... XD However, I think blue eyeshadow can look really good paired with a good color... or even another blue. Just not... flat light blue up to your completely light highlight. XD;

Yea, there is definitely nothing wrong with blue eyeshadow! I prefer to stick with teals and turquoises. If you are going to rock the blue eye, then definitely put a neutral color (light a light brown or a nice taupe) in the crease so the blue shadow doesn't look too clownish. It's all about balance!

I LOVE blue eyeshadow! I think it's kind of like red lipstick; Blue takes quite a bit of confidence to pull off. It took me a long time to feel comfortable wearing it. Also, I had a lot of trouble cleaning up fall out and always thought I looked like i had a black eye.

Blue is my very favorite! If you want to wear it to school/work/etc., then you can use it sparingly and pull it off really easily. I like to use just a line of blue rather than cover my lids: a single line of strong blue above the liner on my upper lids, OR a line under my lower lashes with just thick black liner on the top.

I think that there is defiantly a stigma attache with blue eyeshadow, especially if you have blue eyes. I remember as a young girl when it came time to learn about makeup one of the old wise tale rules was if you have blue eyes you shouldn't wear blue eyeshadow. That stigma stuck with me until recently when I just stopped caring. So long as you apply the shadow well blend out and don't go overboard all will be good.

I love blue eyeshadow! I think it might look bad if its not the right shade for your skin tone, because I have a quad from rimmel and it just looks horrible on me. But I also have some from elf, milani, and physicians formula and I love them!

Make up has no rules!!
I think people like to associate it with the 80's - since it was such a HUGE trend back then. I think people are just terrified to go back to that again. >_>
Honestly, there's SO many ways to wear it! When somebody applies it well, it can look BEAUTIFUL! A navy blue smokey look for night is to die for!!
Again, make up has no rules. Any color goes. There's nothing snobbier than people who say things like, "OMG a cool-toned eyeshadow w/ warm blush?! Ewwww" etc - People need to be a tiny bit more daring. They'd be surprised @ how much fun it could be. ;)

i love it. if done right,a s most have shown, its fantastic. nothing beats my Blue Flame from awhile back, super glittery and deep! deep truth with a hint of freshwater is also lovely. and a thin line of bright light blue liner is awesome for days when you just want a tiny pop of colour in the right place!
