Monica - I know exactly what you are talking about, when i was in highschool i always wanted to go on youtube and upload videos involving makeup and hair and fashion...i would always make videos, even edit them, then delete them because i really was scared of being made fun of....in time i just thought of how we only have one life and you should do what makes you happy....and some people just judge others and can be mean, but on "beautylish" i have found that people have been very friendly and supportive....go for it! dont worry about others, do what makes you happy!! and if it makes you feel better just set your videos to only allow comments that you can approve...thats what i did so i dont have to worry about people being mean to me...i have had crazy comments before and i just delete them and know some people just have all the time in the world and make fun of others, but know that you are helping people if you post videos..know that people learn from you! have fun and go for it!!!

It has changed mine a lot actually. Watching videos made me want more and more makeup and gave me idea on how to store it and what products I should and shouldn't buy (which was really nice so I didn't waste my money on products that I wouldn't like). If someone gives you crap about it just ignore it because they are either jealous or trying to feel better about themselves. Hope this helped!

Girl, you can't go through your whole life worrying about what other people are going to think of you. You've gotta live your life for you and nobody else! Do what makes you happy because life is short and if you want to upload videos onto YouTube go for it! Okay, let's say people from your school do end up finding your videos and tease you for it. Well, a couple years down the road those people wont even matter anymore and if you don't end up posting your videos then a couple years down the road you are going to be sad that you were letting a bunch of high schoolers opinions make your decisions for you! If anybody does tease you then they are just jealous because you have enough courage and confidence to put yourself out there and they don't. Just look at the bigger YT gurus, like juicystar07, Allthatglitters21, missglamorazzi, Michelle Phan, and Kandee Johnson, they all have had so much success and so many opportunities just from putting makeup videos on YT! Anyways, I say that you should just go for it, post your videos! I know I for one would love to check them out! :)

Youtube definitely had something to do with my makeup addiction. I always wanted to look clean and polished with makeup and beauty but I felt it was out of any access to me. Seeing so many girls from beginners to professionals share their tips and tricks and make tutorials really brought back confidence. I feel more confident now with my looks and I've met incredible friends. Having a passion is nothing to be ashamed of, especially if it's your drive and it acts as a therapy when times are hard. I did a movie review channel and it helped tremendously when making presentations at school and have just started a beauty channel to just share and be part of the community! Go for it as I sense you have all the qualities to make it!

I don't even know where to start... I only started watching tutorials about two years ago. I was immediately addicted! I then attended a makeup school in Southern California and I've since become a trainer for Sephora. It's crazy. I've never had a job where I wake up and ENJOY going to work. It's changed my life in so many positive ways.

Youtube has definitely changed my life for the better! It's really helped me to get my confidence back after having 2 children who was starting to feel frumpy. I've met so many wonderful and positive people in the community. I got my 1st hater comment a few months back but I didn't let it get me down. I deleted it immediately and blocked the person. Out of sight, out of mind! You should definitely go for it! Let your personality shine and I'm sure you'll do great! :)

I have always loved makeup but I was always unsure if I was doing all of the steps right thats when I decided to give youtube a try and see what I could find out about hair care, makeup and more. I have been hooked every since that day, and now I no longer worried about how my makeup looks because I know that I'm doing it correctly, and give the right advice to encourage others as well.

My youtube channel has made me more confident and it's just something I really enjoy doing. I love makeup and have always had an interest in art and for me makeup is just a form of art and a way I like to express myself. Youtube has given me the opportunity to show others what I like and how I do my makeup. It did take me a long time to finally decide whether or not to make a channel, I had made a few practice videos but wasn't confident enough to post them, one day I just went for it and I'm so pleased that I did. I've met so many lovely people in the beauty community, it's just a great thing to be a part of.

I'd be lying if I said the beauty community on YT didn't have a huge impact on my love for makeup - While I'm not a guru, I can definitely say that I learned A LOT from gurus online. I remember the days when I would spend hours upon hours just watching foundation routines. They're still my favorite to watch.

I really love how the YT community has given the spot light to non-cookie cutter girls. I give ALL of my respect to girls who have the guts to post themselves without any makeup on. It's quite inspiring. :D

YouTube is pretty much where I learned everything I know about makeup. I honestly can't say I knew much before I started watching almost three years ago. Now, I'm starting my journey on Youtube. I don't consider myself a guru yet but I sure would love to become one one day and be able to inspire so many people to do what they love, regardless if it's beauty related. YouTube has taught me to appreciate myself as an individual and be whoever I want. Not to mention, burn a tremendous hole in my wallet. haha

YoutTube has been my go to source on trying to find out information on the newest products out there. If I am in a store and see products that I am interested in but just not sure if i should purchase them cause I never heard of the brand, there is a 95% chance SOMEONE on youtube has lol. It encouraged me to do the type of videos I do also. Although a lot of people enjoy talking during videos I am pretty sure there are some ppl like me that some times wants to see swatches and brief descriptions and thats it. I have been temptine to actually do tutorials but just can't get through one without laughing : )

I was raised by boys, so I had no idea what I was doing until my bf's > friend's > girlfriends pushed me to get into it. They didn't really push me into it, but I was sick and tired of being the odd one out amongst a group of well-put-together ladies every time we went out. YT enabled me to learn things I would have never known without any form of instruction, [asking someone significantly more attractive than yourself for help is embarrassing!] and I've ended up saving AND spending loads of money thanks to tips and recommendations.

With my blog and slowly starting to film tutorials, it's pushing me to practice other avenues of design: photoshop, web design, photography... heck, EVEN CLEANING MY ROOM just so I have a nice backdrop to present.

Thanks, Youtube... I'd be a poor slob without you... but now, I'm just poor from all the makeup goodies you keep adding to my wishlists.  =P

DO IT! While I'm not in high school anymore, I do understand where you are coming from, but do it anyways. I was really self-conscious about my videos and was so nervous about the first one I uploaded. It took me a while to share my videos with my family and friends and I still only talk about them with a select few.

I make videos because I like making videos. It's a hobby. If people follow me, they do and if they don't, they don't. Don't get me wrong, I would love to be some huge vlogger, but if I never make it, at least I made some videos I'm proud of, shared my opinions and experiences with others and even did a giveaway! It's fun and challenging.

I haven't run into much negativity so I'm in the Youtube Beauty Community for LIFE... LoL
