I finished accutane a little under a month ago there's hardly any scarring anymore just tiny dark marks that will go away soon, no ice picket scarring, lips are getting less dry as is everything else, haven't gotten a spot in over three months and I feel great. Definitely worth all the hassle. Strangers are complimenting my skin it was worthy everything.

How long were you on it and what were the side effects. my dermatologist recommended it to me and gave me the booklet with the I'd and all but I got scared and never went back I'm using proactiv now. I mean it helped A lot But does not stop new pimples from forming which kinda sucks.

@Ashley, I would try & switch to something else. proactive isn't good for your skin in the long run. & it only works while you use it. if you ever stop you'll break out again, some people break out worse than before they used it. there's been a few posts on here about proactive which were overall negative. maybe talk to your dermatologist about using something else or finding natural ways? :)

My dermatologist suggested Accutane but I'm afraid of it. I have tried lush products but does not work for me. @lili.

@ashley 6 months! I got dry eyes and the first few months I got like 7 nose bleeds a day but nasal spray stopped it and of course dry skin and dry lips. It was so worth it and my last month I was switched to a stronger version of accutane called absorbica that has a lipid coating that absorbs it into your system better. I saw results at about month 4. It was the best experience and I couldn't be more grateful. I definitely recommend it! Also my sister did proactiv and it made her get cystic acne.

^ Omg that is absolutely terrifying... what the heck 7 nose bleeds a day?? Idk about you but they'd have a big fat law suit if it was me LOL.

@kitty Ikr! It was soo bad I literally coughed up blood but it's because it dries EVERYTHING out so my nasal glands were dried out. But some people have it way worse! I was lucky. I took vitamin E everyday my skin didn't even peel! I got luckier with accutane hahaha worth the nose bleeds

could you tell me wt strength of accutane did you take? like how many milligrams per day?
My dermatologist prescribed me accutane for 6 months. I'm starting tomorrow. :-)
