I have started using Vaseline to highlight my cheek bones and upper lip because it catches the light perfectly and it is really cheap, but I was wondering, Will Vaseline clog my pores and cause breakouts if I used it everyday? Thanks for the help!

Hey Kassie, you will receive a lot of different answers to your question, lol! I know a lot of people that use vaseline all over their face and they have flawless skin and no breakouts. I think it just depends on your skin.

It's possible. Vaseline is made from mineral oil. Mineral oil can not be absorbed by the skin. This is part of the reason it is so hydrating, it literally seals all the moisture into the skin, but by the same token it doesn't let anything out or really allow your skin to breathe.
So for many, especially oily skinned people, this can cause reactions/breakouts. For others (like me) it is totally fine.

I think as long as you are taking care to cleanse your skin properly, I dont see where you should have a problem

I think it depends on your skin type really but I've stopped using Vaseline on my lips as I recently found out it actually dries them out..so it could cause a problem for your skin too? As with breakouts, I don't have too much idea. Not much help! haha.

Vaseline, on it's own, is not hydrating. It will lock in moisture from some lotion, however. Personally, I use it every night over my night cream. Vaseline is too thick to actually clog pores, so it's not that, unless you're possibly having some sort of allergic reaction.

I'd been putting vaseline on my brows and around/ on my lips because people were telling me that it would help with hair growth on eyebrows and as a lip moisturizer. I've noticed (after a week of using it), that i've started breaking out in the areas around my brows, where the vaseline is being put on, and i have one ouching red bump on the top of my lip. I don't know whether it's the vaseline thats causing it or not, but i'm thinking that it's quite possible and so i've put a stop to my vaseline use.

i use it all over my face but it took some time to find the right amount that would do the job right. when it was too much it was goopy but i didn't break out. if it was just for highlighting then i think it would be fine.
