hello :)
I just got contacts yesterday and with it, came a whole list of what not to do make-up wise when you wear contacts. Those beauties who wear contacts, what are the absolute no-nos, and what doesn't really matter?
For example, they say you shouldn't use brushes to apply eye-shadow, and to use wedge sponges instead... I for one can't imagine ever using a songe instead of my trusty MAC 217...

I wear contacts & never really had a problem when it came to makeup. The only thing I've run into was certain eyeliners smudging & getting on my lenses. Not good cuz you'll end up seeing little black dots. Also be careful when removing your makeup with lenses in, it'll burn. Besides those two things, nothing major.

I've never heard of not using brushes just because you have lenses that seems odd. I've never had any problems with my lenses while using brushes. I do suggest putting your lenses in Before you apply makeup that way you don't get any particles between your eye and lens. As Tiyah said some eyeliners do smudge and get on your lenses just have to find what one works for you and doesn't stick to your contacts or avoid applying to your waterline.

not much different when it comes to wearing lenses or not. Like the above don't get mascara/products onto your lens. I can iritate your eyes or damage your lenses.
I think using brushes and tools to apply makeup won't affect the comfort of your eyes and lenses. As long as you're not applying loads of pressure on your eyelids then no damage/harm done.
I actually take out my lenses before removing my makeup. Only because I find it more comfortable and less chance of getting anything into you eye and your lenses during he cleanse.

I've never heard of the no-brush thing either. Just be careful when you're working on your waterline, tightlining, and applying mascara. I've gotten waterproof mascara on my lenses once, it wasn't the best thing that's ever happened to me. Good thing I wear daily disposables. And tightlining can be really uncomfortable when the pencil makes contact with your lenses and moves it about. Ack.

I stupidly did dramatic makeup one day and then walked into a contact lens appointment. Needless to say, my optician was NOT happy because I had scratched both lenses with my mascara wand! I didn't even realise I had done it, but she could see the lines clearly!
Now I am EXTRA careful.

I have been wearing contacts for over 6yrs now and never had any issue with eyeshadows or brushes. It's something you just have to get used to.

I have an astigmatism so my contacts are really big, and sometimes I get eyeliner on them when I line my upper waterline. If I put all my makeup on before I put the contacts in though, I have no problems :) Just be careful not to get anything like pencils or brushes too close to them, but other than that carry on as usual!

ive been wearing contact lenses every day for 11 years :) and ive never had any problems with make up.
except! when i first started wearing the lenses there was a few times i ripped my lenses by washing my face with strong mascara on.
i advise you take out ur lenses before removing thick mascara.
there are make up removers for eyes that work well with contact lenses. (theres one i use from make up forever) .

I wear contacts and have been for about 5 years now and I've never had any problems with makeup. The only thing that can be annoying is when you put eyeliner on your waterline, and it's super creamy, it can smear onto the lenses and then you have to take them out and clean them again. Other than that, I can't think of anything.

i wear contacts and i've never had any problems with makeup. just make sure to wear it first before applying makeup. one time i tried to put it on after makeup and my eyes became irritated which made it look red. just be careful and you'll be okay.
