No, but I wanted to, lol. I think I snuck some of my mom's makeup ONCE but of course I had no idea what to do with it or anything xD I didn't actually start wearing makeup until sophomore year.

Not me but my little sister is about the same age (11) and she's the same way. I still think she's too young but she was defiant. I gave her an eyeliner pen to test and play around with and she doesn't wear it everyday. I say give her one thing she's allowed to wear and let her experiment

I wore makeup at 12 because I was an "early bloomer" and my dad wanted attention on my face instead of a few inches from my face.

I was about 9. I always used to be painting my face or attempting to put on my 'Barbie makeup kit' which was like 3 greasy colours - blue, purple and pink (so basically all purple once it had all smeared itself together lol) so my mum ended up buying me some eyeshadows and mascara when I was 9. But I grew up very fast, went through puberty very young and I suppose she also just thought it was better than me putting oily crap onto my face. I didn't wear it every day at all though, but I'd say by the time I was 13 I was wearing it pretty regularly and had started to experiment with bright colours and by 15 I had decided I was a 'cyber goth', shaved my eyebrows off, redrawn them in whatever colour I fancied and had false eyelashes on my top and bottom lashes haha. I think there are good and bad sides to being allowed to wear it. I was absolutely fascinated by it. I used to copy the makeup from the celebrities in my magazines to begin with and then really started to get creative with it, which obviously has helped me now because its what I want to do as a career. I've had a lot more time to practice and improve and due to being allowed to wear it throughout the time when you're still figuring out who you are and what you like, I've ended up experimenting with it and learning a lot of skills. In that respect it's helped me. It's also made me feel a lot better about myself because I never felt very attractive before I wore it. But that last part has also been a bad thing. Yes in a way it's given me more confidence, but it's also possibly given me less confidence when I don't have makeup on. It's been part of my life for so long - part of my face really. I have been working where I work for 2 and a half years and never gone to work with no makeup on. I've never even gone in with just mascara on or anything. The least I would go to work with would be foundation, powder, 1 dark eyeshadow if I only had time for 1 and mascara. If I don't wear it (like the very very rare occasion when I go to the shop just near my house without it), you'll find me with my arms folded and my head down feeling very insecure and trying to make myself as invisible as possible. As I said I never had a great deal of confidence about the way I looked before I wore it but maybe if I hadn't worn it for so long I wouldn't be so 'dependant' on it and maybe I wouldn't feel quite as bad without it. I don't think there's anything particularly wrong with wearing it young but I do think maybe try to work out why it is she wants to wear it - whether she's just curious about it and thinks it looks pretty or whether she feels like she 'needs' it to make herself look better because then it may be a self esteem issue that needs addressing rather than buying makeup. I don't think there'd be anything wrong with her wearing a little bit at the weekends though either way :)

I didn't wear makeup until my freshman year or high school. But if she really wants it maybe she can just use a little mascara, a lip gloss or lip tint & concealer where ever it's needed
