You shouldn't shave. I use sally Hansen hair remover.it strips of your lip hair.

Try threading, that's what I do, it doesn't grow darker and lasts a couple weeks. Plus it's cheap!

I also shave it right when I see it about to grow back shave it again so I never know if it gets thicker or darker because I just keep shaving it and never "really" see it :)
