I decorated my nails, drawing hearts with a Sharpie pen. I just wanted to know if it's "bad" for my nails, or if it's okay if I do it?

I don't think it is "bad" for your nails. It will rub off by the end of the day anyways. No harm done IMO. :) I used to do it all the time my freshman year of high school.

I don't think it's "bad" but definitely not the best thing to put on your nails haha

Yes! that's why I used a Sharpie, the tip is so thin it makes the decorating easier (: I applied a top coat to it, so it doesn't wash out quick.

Can't wait to see the photos (: ps be careful with the top coat if you add some, because if you brush it, the color kind of fades. If you do a small design (like a heart) just tap the brush with a bit of the top coat on it!

I think that as long as you use a good base coat on, or even just a layer of polish underneath to prevent staining, you should be good. I've seen it done once and it worked out fine (:

i think if you don't do it multiple times and every single day it should be okay. i do it too, when i'm bored in class :)

As everyone else has mentioned, as long as you have a base coat and a few coats of polish it should be fine :) I wouldn't recommend it on a regular basis though, because all though Sharpies are non-toxic, they're not good for skin or nails. It would take over an ounce for any reaction, but since it has some chemicals that are solvents they can enter the blood stream through skin and fingernails. Also, on bare nails the alcohol in them would be pretty harsh.
Those are just the hazards, but unless you trade in sharpies for nail polish you should be fine! I think everyone has decorated their nails with sharpies at one point or another :)

I wouldn't do that to often because it will absorb into your nail and then into your body and you can get ink poisoning so just be careful and it might damage them. But if you don't very often you should be fine

Put some clear base coat on there, THEN sharpie. I once colored my nails in completely with neon pink and neon green sharpies. When I went to get my nails done a few days later, the color was still there. They had to take the top layer of my nails off to get the color off.
