I have never had stitches on the face (sorry to hear) but for stitches I would stay away from makeup and use only basic soap and water and moisturizer (with no additives like curel)

Be super gentle when you wash your face! Definitely stay away from makeup like your Dr. advised. Even if you applied it around the area, it can transfer and you risk infection. Just go natural. You healing quickly is of the upmost concern!

Mascara is the only thing I would wear. You can't really hide it anyway so go bare and keep it dry.

Use a cream cleanser and just wipe it off with cotton pads, then use toner, that'll keep everything under control. And avoid touching the area with stitches to stop infections etc.
