What is your best advice/tip you can give on makeup application or technique. Or something you wish you had known about wearing makeup when you first started using it.
For me, I wish someone had told me about eye primer!! With it, you can use pretty much any shadow (cheap or high end). And guess what Cyndy?! Its will show! Lol.
yay pigments!

I second the primers. You mean you can have eyeshadow with no creases or lipstick that last more than 30 min? Lol, I learned about primers when I started using this appt (:

@ivvette h. I could have saved layers and layers of shadow application just to not have the color show.
@miss Tia k. I'll have to try bb bream under my foundation. I remember seeing that on a smash box tutorial.

Don't pull your eye when applying makeup. I see a lot of ladies do it when I watch makeup tutorials but it causes wrinkles and bags.

When you get mascara on your top lid, instead of using a wet qtip to get it off which messes up your eyeshadow...wait for it to dry completely and gently scrape it off with your fingernail. Works like a charm!! :)

Primers! Dry cotton swabs to remove mascara smudges, safety pin to seperate lashes when they are still wet,(sounds dangerous; just do it smart & slow! And not ON your eye just the lashes!) white eyeliner on inner eyelid, concealer triangle for under eye coverage/correction, lots more I just can't remember right now! I've learned a lot from kandee Johnson! The woman is a makeup genius!

Don't tug, rub or stretch the delicate eye area. I'm so glad I was taught that as a teen. I cringe when I see peeps do it in tutorials.

When I started with make up I wish I knew about Primers for face and eyes. Also oil absorbing sheets and earpicks to remove mascara smudges.
Since I started I was tought not to pull, rub, stretch, etc. eye area (my Dad told me that, no joke, his Mum and my Granny told him). Great tip. He also told me to be careful what I put on my face because I only get one skin.

A safety pin to separate lashes?? What's wrong with using an eyelash comb? They have some that have very fine, metal tines, much thinner that the cruddy plastic ones.

And my tip/advice/thing I'd wish I'd known: blush is sooo not necessary. I've always thought it looked like a rash on most girls, but for some reason I used it anyway. I think most women look much better without it. (and yes, I know not to do the smile/apples thing lol)

(also, I still love contouring with bronze/highlighter)

It's hard to say because everything that use to be beauty secrets or so on are no longer because of you tube lol the cats out of the bag with a lot of the stuff.@kristi,I know it may sound strange but yes the safety pin thing to separate lashes has been around since like the 70s lol or maybe even longer it's just now people on YouTube can take credit for old tricks and tips as their own and people think their geniuses lol.it's all repetitive info. But may be all new to younger ladies.

I learned the safety pin thing from "Charlie Wilson's war" Julie Roberts does it! So I give that movie credit!

The eyelash comb makes it clumpy or takes mascara off the tips of my eyelashes? So yes a safety pin works better! I know it sounds insane but it works good for me and that's why it's MY advice. :)
