Real Techniques brushes absolutely if you don't want to spend a lot, Mac has great brushes and aren't too pricey, and Sephora's brushes are amazing but much more expensive (but totally worth it!). xo.

Mac, Sephora, and Sonia Kashuk all have some really great brushes. On a budget, just some Target brand brushes will do.

Real techniques and inglot

Real techniques you can buy online and at Ulta- they range from $6.99- $17.99, Mac at any Mac counter or store, (usually inside Dillard's or some Macy's or online these brushes can go from around $14-$53 give or take, Sephora- well at any sephora store haha price range is about the same as mac and maybe even a little more- I have a big powder brush from them that was $55 and I think that's probably as expensive as it gets but I'm not 100% sure!
But for the other brushes: Sonia Kashuk is a brand sold exclusively at Target, Elf- again at Target and some Walmarts &Kmarts, Bare minerals- any ulta or sephora, eco tools- ulta or kmart/walmart/cvs/drugstores
Online only- Sigma, bh cosmetics, costal scents, inglot, & bdellium (at least I haven't ever seen these brands in any stores by me, so I don't know if they're in stores by you or not!)
And I think that sums it about up... there are some great brushes in here though I would deff not suggest eco tools personally I had their kabuki brush and washed it once with brush cleaner and it destroyed the bristles completely! Elf has some good brushes too, especially for $3- the only ones I really like is their powder brush- it's great for applying foundation/powder/bronzer/blush, the contouring blush brush, and their small angled brush is amazing, but their $1 brushes are complete junk.. Bh cosmetics and Costal scents and real techniques are all about the same quality to me and around the same price, definitely the best quality for the price. Sigma, Sephora, Mac, Inglot, Bdellium, are all very similar in quality and price too - pretty much in the same category to me.. and bare minerals, eh just nothing too special with their brushes- but that's just me... just a heads up if you're having trouble choosing between brands! :) Hope this helps xo

Sephora pro is best. Costs a lot less than Mac brushes.

Hautelook is having a sale on crown brushes right now. I typically use mac or sephoras brushes but I hear other makeup artists say good things about crowne. might as well try it out while there's a sale!

& for the crown one is it only on hautelook?
Apr 30, 2013

No crown brush has a website too but if you download the app hautelook they have them like half off right now.

Okii thanks!! But is it still as good as Mac or sephora?

It doesn't matter what brand it is. if the brush is soft and doesn't feel lime its poking your face all you feel is softness, than that's a good brush.

I wanted to try out the eco tool bamboo and they are awesome! super soft!!
Apr 30, 2013
Lydia M.
And the eco tool where do you get it?

I would doubt its as good as mac but if you're not a professional and arent going to be using it 5 times a day for a variety of different techniques and looks then you don't really need mac. but if you have the money to waste, you will never be disappointed with mac. but I myself am going to be trying out tje crown brushes too bc of what I've heard makeup artists I look up to say about them.

Honestly, the best and softest brushes I've ever used were rite aid brand. Weird, but I really need a new powder brush one day and bought it thinking I'd get my usual one and just throw it our because it was only $5 or so. Nope, I loved!
