This is for the 284736259 threads I see asking if 'Biotin is worth the money?' or 'What does biotin do?'.

For starters biotin (also known as vitamin H) is a b vitamin the our bodies produce. It aids in the metabolism of carbs, fats, and proteins, which is why people with a biotin deficiency will often take biotin supplements.
So, to all of you who are asking why you are gaining weight, or getting acne breakouts from taking biotin it's because your body ALREADY produces it, and if you don't have a deficiency you are pumping excess amounts of biotin into your body, which is throwing your system off whack.
Ask your doctor before taking any kind of supplement people.

*in addition to a sufficient amount already produced by the body* like double the metabolism booster kinda thing..

I'm glad you posted this, everyone seems to think biotin is some miracle drug that'll make you beautiful! it's just a bloody vitamin b complex, it's in my supermarket bought A-Z multivitiamins for christ's sake, there's nothing super special or fancy about it at all.. just a vitamin! lol, bit of a rant but it winds me up lol.

@Hazel G. Haha I know, right? Not only that but people don't seem to realize our bodies ALREADY produce it.

Biotin is water soluble so any excess biotin should get excreted with your urine and shouldnt be a problem.
that's why my doctor okayed it
