The shimmer is the flash shinning off the rigid colodeon (liquid that creates scars) its the flash off my iPhone unfortunately.

It looks more like sores with necrosis than a burn, but still very realistic! For a burn I would create less bruising and go for more red, inflamed and peeling skin. Looks nasty though, excellent job!
