My babygirl will be here in little over a month, and I'm getting very excited! and nervous...but excited! haha Just want to talk to other soon - to be mommy's or mothers already, and how do you keep up with yourself and your baby? I don't want to "loose myself" because I have a baby, and I think talking about it is a must cause I'm sure you girls have some tricks up your sleeves! Also feel free to share any advice, tips, stories, anything... I just have been seeing a lot of ladies on here talking about pregnancy and what not- so I wanted a place where we could all talk about it together! And since this is my first child, any advice on preparing (what you need, should have, etc) would be sooo appreciated! As I feel like I'm lost because there are too many new baby trendy toys, tools, and equiptment that I don't even know where to begin! xoxo.

I have a six month old. I was worried about keeping it together BUT that pretty much goes out the window. So what I do (did) cloths that are easy and polished, embraced my natural hair, quick make up routine and a good bra!! I'm not saying this will happen to you but don't stress if your old clothes don't fit. I lost all the baby weight plus 10 in less then 2 weeka but my body is just not the same. Had to buy clothes that fit even if it mean bigger sizes =,(. But if it looks flattering obvi tge size does not matter! Oh and quick drying nail polish lol...I'm excited for you congrats mommie!!

It's important to always make time for yourself but it could be hard, I became a mommy for the first time last June, I'm the kind of person that like to keep my self put together but with a baby it could get a little hard but always try to make a little time for your self

Oh and if your breastfeeding don't be on the late train like me..feeding while laying down on your side and her on hers is the easiest and fastest way to get that baby fed and asleep! And you to... Wear a cami under everything! And button ups are your best friends!

I have a 5 year old and a 2 month old. Breast fed both and still had time for me even though I'm a single mommy. You just have to take advantage of the nap times and take your showers or do your make up or even catch up on your own rest. It was a little harder for me this time to take as many naps being that I have a 5 year old now but if I really needed it I would plop her on the couch next to me with a snack and the Disney channel. Lol. Don't worry. Strategies will come to you and you will figure out the best ways to find time for you. :-) good luck and enjoy!!

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and best wishes!! This may be my last child (I got lucky and had the girl first, I wanted a girl, my fiance wants a boy - well he wants two anyways)...I know though my fiance wants one more, so I may have to sacrifice the nine more months lol! but I mean really,, this pregnancy thing is not for everyone, and deff not for me! haahaha kidding :) I always hear mother's who are like it's a beautiful thing, it's amazing, best time of my life, blah blah and me...I'm miserable. maybe it's because it's a crazy rollercoaster of emotions, mixed with the weight gain/big belly and florida heat...I'm just not enjoying it! and anyone who's been pregnant knows excactly how I feel- the things they don't tell you about are the worst part! lol haha but I can't wait till she's here though, I'm dying to just see her face and see what she looks like!! and if she's anything like me, it will be too much fun!
Thanks Olivia, those are some really good tips! I'm excited to loose the weight, I haven't really gained too much, but I doubt I will loose it in two weeks like you did but you never know! breast feeding is an extra callorie burner, right? I'm a little apprehensive about breastfeeding, I don't know what to expect and have heard it isn't too plesasant...but that bond must be amazing to have with your child!
Priscillia, thanks for the help! :) I know that I will get some me time with my hubbies help- and that's a good idea & you're right, even just now I'm a babysitter, and I have to find ways to trick the girls into paying attention to something else while I make them dinner or whatever else. And thank you! I'm going to need all the luck I can get ;)
Selma, you're so right, I don't think I could've said it better myself. No matter what happends or however many kids I have I'm still going to make some "me" time, whatever and however I have to do it, I don't want to be a mom who lets herself go, or gets overwhelmed. I know that motherhood is rewarding and you want to spend all of your time with your kids, but who said it has to be you never getting your own space to decompress? you know? I feel like so many mothers forget that, and they're superwomen for everything except themselves!
Did anyone worry about sids when they had a newborn? And how did you feel about your motherly instinct- I mean did you take parenting/childbirthing classes or just wing it and figure you'll just know what to do? Because I've read so many articles about tips and tricks and how to's to being a mommy but everytime I read it I feel like it's stuff I already know...It's like once you hold them in your arms, everything falls into place and you just know what to do... then again, I could be wrong lol!!
Tiffany- thank you for your best wishes! means a lot! and, you lucky girl! trying is the best part ;) I got pregnant the first time we tried...haha but the trying hasn't stopped since lol- enjoy it while you can, the huge belly interferes with it a lot more than you think, and then after they're here...I can only imagine how hard that's going to be too! LOL :) :)

My best advice is to not think about & worry about getting pregnant or not, just enjoy the love you two have and let what will be; be! Does that make sense? So many people stress about getting pregnant or not that it's not good for you! Stress can do bad things to your body & can even effect your chances of getting pregnant and what not! Also I'm sure you know all about your ovulation days, right? Because I didn't know before I got pregnant, that you can only get pregnant like 2 days out of the month!! Lol, so you can find out when those are based on your period and do it the most then- or just keep "trying" everyday!! ;) and also just my personal advice is, get as many adventures in as you can now! And have fun with it now because when and if you do get pregnant, you won't be able to do the really fun spontaneous stuff anymore :( and for some reason when you "can't" have something anymore, makes you want it even more... This goes for wine and yummy chocolate martinis too!! ;) good luck tho babe!! :)

Congrats Jennifer!! Enjoy these early stages now! And take advantage of sleeping on your back and still being able to fit into your clothes! ;) I'm still nervous, it's a good thing I think because that means you care!! You have so much fun things to look forward to! Do you want a girl or boy?

Yeah breastfeeding helps. It burns so many calories and helps your uterus contract back to size. But not for everyone. And I was all belly and my was over 10 lbs lol so it was mostly him. SIDS is scary but my son sleeps with me. And the first like month I had to hold him to sleep then his neck got stong fast and once they can hold their head up its not to much of a worry but you never know. You will be fine you'll be so aware you don't even know yet.

See, that's what I think! I know that I will be very aware of what's going on, and what she's constantly doing.. I'm just worried that I'm going to be a very overprotective mom! haha how old is your son? I thought they said babies sleeping with their parents before a year isn't good? just because of the blankets and pillows/suffocating/or rolling over on them...I don't know I kinda think it's silly all the stuff they say now.. because look at our grandmothers who had our parents without any of the fancy pillows/things they have out now to "protect" everything, and they survived!! I think I will want to hold her while she sleeps anyways! I'm so excited to see what she looks like! I can't wait wait wait to see her! wait, you only gained ten pounds?? lucky biatch!! I wish, I've gained the 30 at least...feels like 3000 hahaha

Thank you! I'm so happy! It's my first so its all new to me. I've gotten lucky thus far, with no morning sickness at all. But the nausea is a pain! lol. I sound so spoiled. I'm not really pining to find out the sex, my fiance and I are just happy I'm actually pregnant.

Oh no no I gained 30 but my son was 10 of it! Lol I know they say the safest way to sleep is by themselves and all that but I chose to co sleep and thats what worked best for us. And I can't sleep without my baby!.. Jennifer I didnt find out till I had him! Lol.
