MU school or intern?

Hi! I want to do beauty makeup but also (mainly) fx makeup. My question is, is it worth it to go to a makeup school (MUD, or Dicks or Cinema) or just intern with a local professional?

PS: I don't want to be "self taught" by YouTube. I use it for ideas to practice and for tips but I don't want my career based off of "supercutie765" videos... (Thats not a real name btw.. lol)
