So I want to be a makeup artist and go to school for it but I feel like I know NOTHING about signing up, good schools, tuitions, etc. So if anyone could please help me in what I should know about schools in order to sign up for a good school or whatever I need to know. And also if you know about good beauty colleges in Southern California, preferably in San Diego area. Thanks!!

Look into Aveda schools.Their tuition is higher than other schools though. Since aveda salons hire aveda graduates and they are pricier than super cuts, you would be making decent money. Or Paul Mitchell has beauty schools and Toni and Guy is said to be nice. Just do a little research and you should have it narrowed down to a few schools in no time. Then just call and make an appointment to tour them. Good luck.

I'm in cosmetology and San Diego city college, it's a lot cheaper then private schools and they have one of the best state board pass rates in California

I am a graduate from Paul Mitchell. I loved it! Take a tour and fall in love. My advice. Take lots of tours, don't believe here-say, and see it for yourself. Get facts like passing rates, completion rates, etc. There are paul mitchells in San Diego and Temecula. Good luck!

I'm actually waiting to start schooling at bellus academy. I live in San Diego n there's a location in El Cajon, that's the one I'll be going to.I was supposed to start this month but I didn't get financial aid set up so I'm still waiting. but Bellus academy is a great school n voted number 1. I hear they also can help you find a job too. I'll be in 102 esthetics and that is skin and makeup. it's a 6 month program. I'm really excited about it but you should check it out. maybe call them n set up an appointment for a tour.
