Maybe use a darker shade and blend more. I think it looks nice, but I understand your want for improvement.

I think it looks great, usually the rule of thumb is to wait for your foundation to oxidize (blend with the natural oils of the skin). If you have problems with the ashy look try different brushes and techniques (using a fan brush opposed to a powder brush or a stippling brush, or a powder puff)

You foundation looks to light or you used to much powder. but to to answer your question. powder pat it on don't pack it on. use settings powder with a light hand. when putting it on your brush swirl and tap I.e swirl in the cap and tap brush up right so that the product gets in tge Brussels so you can buff as much as you want ti but don't brush to hard s o that way your not moving your make up. contour: you can't see your contour that well (its very faint but iys there) because its not dark enough you want to go a shade or 2 darker so that you get that "shadow" aka contour and when you do it make a kissing face for correct placement don't make it to close to the mouth and blush on top and then highlight on top of blush.
