Alright, I know that putting toothpaste in your acne is not the best thing to do, but I was in desperate need of treating these crops I've had for a good month now. About ten minutes ago, I put a super duper thin layer of toothpaste on four spots on my face, not expecting the best results but I sure was not expecting it to leave marks on my face. I don't know how to treat it, and I know it may fade away within an hour or so, but I really do not want to have these circle marks on my face. Are there any ways/methods to help get rid of these marks? Pictures below.

I'd suggest putting a cold wet cloth on it for now. does it burn?

What toothpaste did you use? Could you send a pic of the ingredient list.

I remember trying this a few years back and it burnt my skin really bad, I used Cetaphil moisturizer to try and soothe it but any thick moisturizer should do😊

Oh no! Looks like a chemical burn! I would highly suggest going to the store and buying aloevera gel (not the fake kind! The real stuff!) and apply every morning afternoon and night. It make take a while for them to go away since it's a burn, but the aloe Vera gel will help it heal and keep it protected and should soothe it. You might not be allergic to anything in the toothpaste, it's simply that some chemicals are not meant to be out on the skin and it caused a burn! Stick to skin safe acne treatments! I would recommend a salysilic acid for fast results!

When using tooth paste on pimples your only suppose to dab some on because I do it. You're not suppose to lay on your skin neither but my suggestion is to put use on the side of your face for a couple minutes & add some aloevera because you've burnt your top layer of skin off. Don't put any other products on it because it can make it worst! Good luck😊

Just apply aloe Vera and leave it alone. There's no "right way" to use toothpaste because it's not formulated for the skin so hopefully you won't ever try it again and use a proper spot treatment instead. I learned that the hard way as well.

Thanks guys! Luckily, the burn had gone away, there is still a slight tenderness to the areas, but I'm hoping it will go away soon. I will definitely never do this again, and I will go and get some aloe vera!

Something similar happened to me before too! I had an allergic reaction to a pimple cream. I used ice and coconut oil! Glad to hear that the burns are going away :) good luck!

Ouch!!
Toothpaste is definitely a DIY to avoid, the ingredients in toothpaste are very irritating and by doing that it actually triggers nerves that end up causing more oil production=more acne.
I recommend watching this video by Veronica Gorgeois... 'DIY recipes to avoid'

She is an awesome skin care esthetician with plenty of skin care videos.
