Hi beauties,
recently I've been looking more into what I put on my face in terms of skincare and while I'm starting to understand which ingredients a product should contain I'm wondering if there are any ingredients that should be avoided. so far I'm just trying to stay away from alcohol as I think it would be quite harsh (is it actually though ) and perfume as it just seems unnecessary.
which ingredients are you trying to avoid? any ideas or guidance is much appreciated, thank you! :)

This website has taught me a lot about toxic ingredients! Although I try to avoid a lot of it most products do contain chemicals to preserve shelf life which, we can't do much about. I hope this helps! :)

Thank you so much Theresa, that's a great list. good to see alcohol and aluminium on there, so I must have done something right by avoiding them :)

Solvent alcohols definitely need to be avoided. Fatty Alcohols will help repair the moisture barrier. I have a list but I'm not home at the moment... Along with fragrance... Both synthetic and natural especially for acne prone skin and those who's skin care that include anti aging. As far as sources, your best bet would be to look up 'Veronica Gorgeios'. She discusses what ingredients are harmful and it's factual and not based on pseudoscience. I also like to follow Caroline Hirons blog who's another esthetician.. she has awesome product recommendations for both ends (people who like more natural products and those who don't mind.)

Thank you Kitty, I will check out those two, I really like to know when someone is actually giving factual educated advise since there is so much untrustworthy stuff on the Internet, so this is really helpful. I didn't even know there were two different kinds of alcohol, that's really helpful, I will also look further into that. :)
