I'm looking to make my own lip scrub. in some tutorials it says to use Vaseline, but in others it says to use coconut oil.
which is better to use when making a lip scrub?

I prefer Vaseline as it helps to kind of 'stick' to your lips but if you are looking for more moisturising I would go for the oil💕

I would go with Vaseline because it's thicker and coconut oil will just melt. Another good homemade lip scrub option would be honey and sugar.

I like coconut oil because Vaseline is just a think jelly that doesn't really "heal" or moisturize your lips, but rather just coats them. Coconut oil on the other hand will help moisturize your lips and make them feel super soft afterwards.

I agree with Katelyn. Vaseline is a sealant, but you want to do more than seal in moisture; you want to add it. I make my own scrub using Coconut Oil, organic sugar (brown sugar is also nice) and a touch of Sweet Almond Oil. You can add so many flavors!

Honestly Vaseline may seem like the best option. It would hold the scrub together more. But it doesn't really do much for you. It may seem it does good but it really just locks in moisture as opposed to adding it like the two ladies above me said. There may also be more concerns with it if you google Vaseline. Coconut oil is definitely a lot safer and will actually add moisture to your lips. Or jojoba oil may work, it's the closest oil to our skins natural oil.

Maybe mix vaseline and coocnut oil? So it moisturizes and has a good consistency?

I prefer coconut oil as its less thick in my opinion. And more moisturizing.

I have my own and its a mixture of both but I prefer coconut oil because it has more and better benefits...
