What really helped me was switching from a body wash to a face cleanser. I use the seaweed line from the body shop, it clears my face acne and now keeps my body acne clear. Using a body lotion that doesn't clog pores and isn't that heavy is also important.

Sea salt spray:) Spray it after you shower and make sure all your shampoo and conditioners are washed off your body.

Normal soap isn't going to do anything. You need an acne body wash, something with either benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.
What acne cream were you on?

Just a thought, I've heard that loofahs can damage some of your skin. I hope all works out!

Maya brings up a good point regarding loofahs, but with a light hand, loofahs are fine in my view. They certainly do pose two other problems. If your skin is broken out with active acne, a loofah can further irritate it. Any kind of harsh rubbing can irritate skin...even a washcloth can be rubbed way too hard.
The 2nd is that loofahs retain bacteria..dead skin cells which can worsen your acne if it isn't properly cleaned. I do not loofah every shower..for me, thats too much since I use other exfoliating methods, so when I'm done..I always squeeze it out..air dry & then throw it in when I'm washing my white towels. I treat my loofah like I would a washcloth..clean after use. I have two and so I rotate them to ensure I'm not lazily reusing a loofah.
It doesn't sound like a loofah is a good fit for your skin presently.
Washes aren't always effective because the product spends little time in the skin. I'd instead use my body wash on dry skin..and stand in the shower a few..letting the wash sit on the skin. After rinsing and patting dry, I'd apply an acne body spray intended to remain on skin. I like the Dermadoctor line and Paula's Choice for addressing acne..including the body.

Basically I head that back acne can be linked to what's in your shampoo and conditioner.
For me I started getting religious about exfoliating and I was careful that my hair should soak on my back and so far I've gotten rid of them. :|
