I just marked 18 weeks in my pregnancy and I'm so nervous about getting stretch marks! So far I've just been using a lot of baby oil. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

You could try lotions and whatnot, but I've noticed that some women get them even when they take every precaution. I honestly don't know why but I guess maybe it has something to do with how strong your skin is, haha. Idk honestly. I knew that no matter what I did, I'd get them so I didn't even bother. My sister, mom and multiple cousins tried everything and ended up getting them anyways, that's why I didn't bother. Congratulations btw. (:

Keep hydrated at all times, I used coconut oil after my pregnancy and it seemed to help a lot :)

I'm not sure how to really avoid them but if you do end up getting stretch marks, I suggest using something called a derma roller. :) Good ones are expensive but its totally worth it.

Aww congratulations! I've heard that bio oil works. everyone always says those stretch mark creams don't work. so I say just go for something natural. raw African Shea butter is good for stretch marks.

I recommend bio oil too. I'm using it now for the damage that was done, I've been using it for a little over a year now and it's sloowwwwly but surely working.

I have the most horrible stretch marks from my first pregnancy and I did everything to prevent it. I was small up until 8 months and by the last month my belly just GREW SO FAST. That was the cause of my stretch marks and was unavoidable lol. Sigh 😔 oh well. My mom doesn't have any stretch marks because she never really got big.

I used cocoa butter 3 times a day, & DO NOT SCRATCH your belly cause it's going to get itchy as fuuuudge
If you do get stretch marks I can recommend you a cream that made mine go away

Definitely do girl it seriously is magic. Like I can't stress enough how much I love this stuff. I had stretch marks on my thighs that are completely gone now, the ones are my butt are nearly gone except for the deeper ones which you can barely see anymore. They used to be REDDDDD especially since I'm very light.
If you for some reason don't find if, let me know & I'll someone figure out a way to get it to you, I wish everyone got the chance to use this

You can also get Palmers Cocoa Butter. I know they sell that at Walgreens, target, etc. and I know many women swear by it during pregnancy or for anything basically :)

Heredity has a lot to do with getting them...your skins thickness and elasticity. While moisturizing is a great idea, I'd switch to something other than baby oil. Often stretchmarks can be attributed to the speed at which your stomach grows and how rapidly your weight increases. Skin tears when it is stretched too quickly for some flesh. So watch your diet, stay active and invest in a quality moisturizer...and hope for the best. Congrats on your pregnancy.
