Hey there- so I currently use Neutrogena rapid clear toner and lotion. I've been recommended to try an organic coconut oil to replace the lotion, but wondering if I should still use the toner? Should I cleanse? Thanks :)

I would say spot test it first. Coconut oil really broke me out.

Def spot test it. Remember a product reacts differently with everyone (:

Of course you should still cleanse! As for coconut oil, definitely spot test, since it's mildly comedogenic. I would actually recommend jojoba oil to moisturize rather than coconut. :)

I agree with Renay. Still, for daytime use under make-up, oils can be tricky so I would use a moisturizer with Sunlnscreen, like CeraVe AM and use my jojoba evenings. Works great for me.

I've seen loads of posts online that suggest using coconut oil with bicarbonate of soda mixed into a paste. The soda acts like a very mild exfoliator and ensures the pores don't clog up, but still allows the coconut oil to get to work with nourishing the skin 👍 x

Yes still use a toner and cleanse. If you want a more natural toner you can use witch hazel and dilute it with water. As for coconut oil as a moisturizer, I wouldn't really recommend it. It clogs pores which makes a lot of people break out (however I like to use it to moisturize my body). It's also extremely greasy and it doesn't really sink into the skin. It's not a moisturizer it's just a barrier to hold in moisture. Check out the Body Shop Aloe Vera Moisturizer or Avene Moisturizer. I agree you could also try Jojoba oil as well.

Everyone is different, but I read that on a scale of 1-5, how clogging it is to your pores, it was a 4. But like I said, everyone is different :) I use tea tree oil!!
