So I've heard about people doing the chemical peel and it looks painful tbh. But my real question is, what is the point/benefits of it? Have you done it?

I have not done it but it is used for anti aging or to get rid of acne and from what I've heard it doesn't hurt

A chemical peel is used for many reasons. it helps with acne scarring, fine lines & wrinkles, sun damage, skin pigmentation, uneven texture, etc. There are different strengths of chemical peels which offer different results and possible side effects. Depending on the strength, a chemical peel penetrate either to the outermost layer down to the lower dermal layer of your skin. I disagree that they're completely painless, again it depends on the level of chemical peel but you may experience some stinging sensations and discomfort. Theyre not necessarily enjoyable to be honest. I have never gotten one myself but I do work with them.

My aunt did it, I don't believe it's painful but your skin looks like you were mauled by a dog for a few days. But I hear that after that's over your skin looks amazing!

I've had them from my derm and an Estie and experienced no pain during the application. Afterward, it felt as a mild sunburn and my doc gave me a product to soothe and calm my skin. A few days of light peeling and my skin looked amazing..bright, soft, fresh and my skin tone was even. I avoided the sun as much as possible and skipped foundation..using a natural broad spectrum sunscreen.
Honestly, there are a variety of peels and they offer various levels of recovery and effectiveness. I have sensitive skin and a series of light peels were a great option for me. It was quick and kept my skin glowing (with products from my derm) for years.
