I have been using Bioderma Micellar for a few months now and love the idea of using water on my face less. However it seems to take a lot to get my face even remotely clean after I wipe with a few. Are some brands more effective than others? In the morning I always find more and I do not wear a ton of makeup on my skin-usually just moisturizer and then a tinted moisturizer with some blush. Any suggestions?

I'd use it as a toner tbh after I have removed my make up properly

I use it more as an eye makeup remover. When I first started playing with Bioderma Micellar and using it to remove all makeup day after day I noticed it was drying out my skin. And yes it definitely takes a lot of wipes to get the face somewhat clean. I do have Simple version of Micellar and it's not too bad. It's a lot more affordable than Bioderma but hard to find because it's always sold out and it stings my eyes just a smidge.

I use Bioderma to remove eye makeup and as a extra refresher on my skin after I tone it with Indie Lee COQ toner, that combo really is a great combo. :)

Thank you ladies and gent for your input. Well I am disappointed to read that Micellar water can't really get the job done! I have not experienced dry skin like you Shelley but would rather use toner after washing my face. I will let this bottle run out and check back in a few months to see if there have been any improvements in how well Micellar water works to actually clean my face.

Thank you so much Jacqueline for your input. I am curious to try the Koh Gen Do Micellar Water to see if I get better results than I did with Bioderm's formula. My skin is on the dry side and the less contact with water-the better-especially in the winter.

Which Bioderma formula did you try? I found even the Bioderma Sensibio to be drying, which surprised me. I'm not giving up on the concept, but won't repurchase that particular brand.

@Rozberry, I used the Bioderma Hydrabio Hydrate which is probably why I didn't find it drying. It just didn't get all of my makeup off- which isn't a lot. I figured using Micellar water would mean I wouldn't have to splash so much water on my face which is drying. I;m with you- not giving up in idea just on Bioderma's. Jacqueline suggested a couple of brands I am going to check out.

Ahh..yeah. I just checked mine and it is the Hydrobio H20 formula, but I'm going to look into more brands as well..thank you. Ms. Jacqueline, your suggestion sounds great, but I can't do Lavender scent. I'm going to look into the Blue Plasma. Thank you as well.

I enjoy the double cleansing method instead. I have tried Caudalie & Simple brands of micellar and though it gets the job done, I kind of think it's 'cheating' or 'taking a shortcut' on my skincare. I think if it was like 3 years earlier, I'd probably find it just fine- but nowadays my skin requires pampering and is high maintenance :(. I used to have normal skin and now it's dry- but I can still manage to keep it soft and supple if I really take time on it and follow a good skincare regimen. I still utilize micellar for makeup removal if it's midday though. I really can't get away with washing my face 3 times :/
