You could apply it to the upper waterline. It'll add the color to where it really isn't that noticeable but helps to make the eyes seem a little brighter.

I like the top left the best. :) I think if its thinner when applied it could look very subtle and casual.

Ooh I use mine kinda like the bottom right picture, but I use a warm brown pencil first, on the inner corner to middle of the eye and then a teal eyeliner on the outside. So kind of opposite of how the picture is, if that makes sense! Hope I helped (:
