What's the difference between bb cream and cc cream?

I've been wondering what is the difference between both bb cream and cc cream?

Bb cream is a light coverage kind of foundation kind of like a tinted moisturizer but it stands for beauty balm a cc cream is to correct and and even out the skin.

I believe the original ones which originated in Asia were: bb cream just a tinted moisturizer and the cc cream was the same plus skin lightning properties.

As far as the Asian ones go, BB cream is like an all-in-one product.
It's your moisturizer, primer, sunscreen, foundation etc
CC creams are very similar but they correct redness and other things.
I've heard that BB creams are meant to help prevent things whereas CC is meant to treat skin issues.
CC creams tend to control oil more, more SPF etc.they're also the mor summer friendly ones,

As far as the American or western ones.
BB cream is just a tinted moisturizer(they basically had a tinted moisturizer formulated and just slapped on 'BB CREAM')
They tend to have a different texture and aren't as buildable as the Asian ones without getting cakey.
The western CC creams are pretty much just color correctors of some sort

I know MAC makes CC powders and they just color-correcting powder. Nothing more.
