And the feeling you're having is totally normal it's called public self consciousness. We all have public self awareness but when we change something about ourselves or just want to show a different side of ourselves we tend to dwell on how we look or act in public. Totally normal and valid feelings that will fade as you do this style more. I'm a psych major so I always love to let people know what's really going on inside their brains, kinda nerdy and dumb but sometimes it helps, especially when you're trying out a new look :)
