Nice texture, wrong shade for skin tone

I'm always experimenting with correctors for my dark under eye circles. Decided with my medium deep skin tone, I'd try the Medium shade corrector. For colour reference, I use the following foundations: KA SSE FX11/KA SSF SF08/ND Glow #75/ND Phenomattic #7/also matched to MAC NC43.5.

Unfortunately the Medium shade was not warm enough to neutralize my dark under eye circles, despite whatever concealer I applied later on top. My circles are not severely dark, I just need to continue using correctors that are a warmer peach/orange shade.

Gave the product 3 stars for texture and wearability - it lasts for several hours and doesn't feel heavy but does require a bit of work to blend into the skin on initial application. A little bit goes a long way.

I've read such good reviews about IT Cosmetics but felt the Rich shade corrector would definitely be too dark for me. Pity there are only 3 shades within the IT correctors.

Good oil control with a lovely soft matte effect

Been experimenting with new foundations this year - my skin tone is a medium deep and VERY oily ... they say this will make me "age" well ... Hmmm :) I wanted to try out a matte foundation for my oily skin plus I was curious that Phenomattic foundation is "self-setting" i.e. no powder is required after application.

My other foundation colour comparisons:

1) MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC43.5 (apparently not available in the states? But is available in other countries) - close match in shade. 2) Kevin Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer SX11 - this is slightly more yellow in tone than the Phenomattic #7, which is a hint deeper; it really is a bisque shade. 3) Kevin Aucoin Sensual Skin Fluid SF08 - the Phenomattic #7 is a tad warmer + deeper. 4) Natasha Denona Glow #75 - very close match in shade + warmth.

Product texture: It's a light cream + not greasy with zero shine/illumination.

Application: Primed skin with the ND Lifting Primer Anti-aging Serum. After colour correcting/concealing, dotted the foundation over my face then used a foundation brush to gently buff all over. Easy to work into the skin. The foundation tube comes with a pump - 1 pump was enough for my whole face.

It sets within a minute and leaves a beautiful soft matte effect. It did not leave a dry cakey look in appearance or to touch. Didn't feel like I was wearing anything. I even tested out the transferability of the foundation by pressing (not rubbing) a white tissue firmly to various parts of my face a few minutes after application and again after several hours of wear. The tissue remained white! With firm rubbing of the tissue, there obviously was some transfer.

Oil control: Excellent! I'm not sure how the foundation will work without a primer, but with my primer, I have not had to use any blotting papers at all during the whole day.

The only powders I ended up using on my face was my blush and to set my concealer. I want to pair the Phenomattic foundation with the ND Eye Light Highlighting concealer, since it's also supposed to be self-setting with no need for powder.

If you've got oily skin, this foundation is definitely worth a try. And don't worry if you're "mature" in age ... I consider myself youthful but ain't a spring chicken anymore :) The matte look of this foundation stayed smooth throughout the day.

Gorgeous light-weight foundation

This is a lovely light-weight oil-free liquid foundation. I've been using the KA SSE SX11 which is just a tad too yellow for my skin tone, hence I was looking for other foundations to use.

My skin type: Oily, oily ... oily!

SF08 product texture: Very thin and watery, zero oil.

Application: Shake the bottle well before using as instructed :) I moisturise, prime, correct + conceal then use 1 full dropper to cover my whole face, using a foundation brush (Rae Morris #23 or Wayne Goss #10). Product is placed into the palm of my hand, picked up with the brush then dotted onto the face. It's easy to spread and buff gently into the skin (to avoid displacing my correction/concealing products). Didn't attempt to use a beauty blender - felt that the SF08 formulation, being oil-free, watery + very thin, would mostly get absorbed into the sponge and therefore less product would be available for the skin.

Colour: I'm a medium-deep. Got matched by the Beautylish Team. The SF08 matches well with my skin tone. It's slightly lighter in shade that my other foundations and less warm.

To compare with my other foundations: - Natasha Denona Glow #75 medium-dark. It's slightly deeper in shade than the SF08 and a more illuminating glowy foundation. So will use the ND#75 in summer and keep the KA SF08 for winter. - Natasha Denona Phenomattic Flawless Texture Foundation #7 shade medium-dark bisque. Matte foundation like the SF08 but more thicker/creamy plus it does not require any setting with powder.

Setting powder used: Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish powder.

Coverage: Medium to full, depending on how much prior correction/concealing product was applied. I only had to apply one layer of the SF08; this surprised me, since I've got a LOT of hyperpigmentation on cheeks, around mouth and on chin.

Final verdict: A gorgeous matte smooth natural look. A change from the other more creamy liquid foundations but the watery texture is easy to apply. Definitely will re-order :)

Lovely texture but too cool toned for my under eyes despite colour correcting

Skin tone reference: MAC Studio Fix NC43.5/Kevyn Aucoin SSE SX11/Natasha Denona Glow foundation #75.

This actually is a lovely textured product that blends very well into the skin + it doesn't feel heavy if you put on more than one layer. However, despite using colour correctors to neutralize my dark under eye circles, when I applied this on top, it just added an odd cool brightness to my under eyes. I tried with one layer, with two; tried it under my corrector, over it, without the corrector, beneath my concealer, on top as the final layer. Whatever I did, it did not eradicate my under eye darkness or even the skin tone out.

So ... I decided to MacGyver some of my make-up ... you young ones reading this, just google him ;) ... By blending it with some of my liquid lipsticks :) It gives a lovely glow and softness to a dry matte lip colour. Hence it gets the 3 stars for that!

Excellent oil control

I've got very oily skin and have used Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer as my standard primer. The MUFE makes my skin tone initially very matte with fair oil control for about 4-5 hours. Then I have to blot away ... And blot again :)

I tried out the Magic Primer since I use ND Glow foundation. The product has a non-tacky gel-like consistency which blends and disappears into my skin, leaving it semi-matte. I like the fact that I don't feel a layer of product sitting on top of my skin, which is what I get after applying the MUFE Step 1 Equalizer primer.

The Magic Primer pairs well with my ND Glow foundation and the oil control just seems better. I have less break-through shine as the day goes on + use less blotting papers to dab any hint of shine away.

This is a similar product to the Kevyn Aucoin Primed Skin Developer (Normal to Oily skin types) in terms of gel-like texture, consistency and oil control. If I do use my KA SSE foundation, I get excellent oil control by first applying the Magic Primer then using a blend of the SSE foundation mixed with its Primed Skin Developer.

Thorough enjoying my Natasha Denona products :)

Good neutralizer on tan/medium-deep skin

Skin colour reference: MAC Studio Fix NC43.5/KA SSE SX11/ND Glow foundation #75.

I'm used to using peach and orange based correctors. Got dark under eye circles and hyperpigmentation on cheeks plus chin and around the mouth. Sometimes I find it tricky to balance from "over-correcting" in order to achieve a flawless, non-ashy face vs using less peach/orange correctors and having a less even toned face. When I "over-correct", in other words build up the product with more than one layer, my face can end up being too warm (I try to avoid looking like the Oros man 🤗 Look it up on Google 😉). So I was hoping to find a deeper red-orange shade that required less product in order to neutralize.

Colour: The red-orange shade of the Becca papaya is not that strong when the product is applied. It leaves a good deep warm tint over my problem areas that's not bright, so it seems to neutralize the hyperpigmentation well but not show up too warm under my foundation/concealer (Yay, no Oros face!).

Texture: Has a "Vaseline" or lip balm feel about it but the product is very light and thin. It does not apply greasy at all and I've got oily skin.

Application: It blends well and leaves a slight tacky feel, sort of like an oil-control primer. I've used it either before and after my primer; makes no difference, my foundation stays in place with both methods.

Longevity: - Chin and cheeks stayed reasonably "corrected" thoughout the day. - Undereyes start off looking great, but seems to fade quicker and I look tired again by the afternoon, despite using primer before application. I also tried applying a teeny tiny bit of product over my eyelids to neutralize the darkness before applying my eye primer. Not a good idea! The colour payoff seemed better and eyeshadows stayed in place the whole day. But I think it was too much product for my eyelids - after a while, I looked like I had thick crepe-like eyelids - very aging!

Spot application: due to the texture of the product, it's difficult to apply only to small hyperpigmented spots. I found it a better product for applying and blending into a larger discoloured area i.e. my chin and cheeks.

Verdict? I will buy this product again for using on chin/cheeks, spot correct with another product and will continue with my hunt for the perfect eye corrector :)
