Best brush I've ever purchased

My husband purchased the original 2015 collection as a gift, because the newer Sonia G face pro individual brushes were out of stock...😒 Per usual. Anyway, this blue squirrel brush was included in the set. Not only is the entire set absolutely ***PHENOMENAL**** This is probably hands down my favorite multipurpose face brush that I've ever had.

I use it with my CT Filmstar Bronze and glow which can be a bit too dark on me when I'm not rocking a tan. This gently disperses my product in the most targeted perfect way!!

I can use it for highlight blush...I mean everything really. If you're on a budget like me, want to try out the blue squirrel hair and are just in need of a really utilitarian, all around versatile and soft brush GET THIS ONE. Initially, the day your package arrives in the mail and you do the usual, tearing into your Beautylish box like a wild animal You open it up and at first examination you might feel a twinge of dissapointment

...."like, damn Y it lOoK So SmALL tHo?" 😐

No just try it. It's the perfect size. We in the West I think are typically accustomed to "Large=better" mentality

Especially in comparison to the cheaper, massive fluffy synthetic brushes people are used to using (myself included)

This fits perfectly in Holiday palettes eg Hourglass that have the smaller pans.

It's a perfect travel companion for face palettes like Charlotte Tilburys in which trying to stuff a bigger brush in the palette is a real PIA.

This brush fits right into the hollows of your cheeks with precision but it also will splay out if you apply a bit of gentle pressure so you can buff out your blush contour bronzer-whatever after placing it down.

With every day use it definitely fluffs out a bit but I think my favorite part about these blue squirrel brushes is the fact that they're SO SO easy to clean.

You really dont want to wash blue squirrel very often. All you have to do is gently wipe it off on some soft tissue paper to release the leftover pigment and *BAM* done.

I think it's sort of a shame that classic amazing brushes like this one tend to get overlooked and forgotten because of whatever is "new" or "hyped" on YouTube.

I'm guilty of this. I never would have probably picked up this brush if my husband didnt buy me this 2015 WG collection as a "consolation" because the new Sonia G brushes were OOS.

I'm really grateful now that they were.

I digress I'm way too cheap to normally buy two of the same high end brushes because my collection is still relatively small and I'm still on my fude Journey in discovering shapes and styles and hairtypes I like.

I will be purchasing another.

This is a steal for the price and the hair type. Overall, I'm really impressed with WG brushes for their overall performance and functionality.

I'm very intentional about making note of which brushes I habitually tend to reach for over others so I dont end up making a ton of expensive, impulsive brush purchases that sit collecting dust. (The bad kind of dust lol)

So yeah. In closing, I wouldn't say WG brushes are the most aesthetically fancy or come with elaborate handles. But they're crazy functional, easy to use for beginners like myself, and I'm always reaching for them the most out of all my other higher end brushes.

I look forward to adding more someday. I LOVE this brush.

update

I really really love this brush. I use it for my blush and honestly I couldn't imagine not having it. I recieved it in a luckybag and I'm. very thankful for that because I wouldn't have thought to buy it on my own.

Favorite sonia G brush

I tend to prefer Wayne Goss brushes for their functionality over Sonia G brushes but I will say I really enjoy this brush and the face one. Like another reviewer mentioned: it does have a strong goat scent.

Edit

ALSO: These are (mostly).squirrel hair brushes. Not goat ...not synthetic *SQUIRREL*

You dont wash these once a week, or every few days. They are easier to maintain in a way because all you need to do is wipe them on a soft tissue paper or a microfiber towel.

DONT use them if your skin is still wet or oily from products. Make sure your eye and face base is set with a powder first or they will go bad and start to shed as some reviews have posted.

Hakuhodo website reccomends people with really oily skin either use synthetic/goat or be extra careful when using squirrel.

They're really ideal for people with regular to more dry skin.

This collection will still work for people with oily skin because the foundation brush is goat and the #2 cheek brush again, just dont use with cream products or set your face.

Just posting to save people some time. Still reccomend reading up about the maintenance of squirrel brushes if you're a newbie like me.

Speechless

Husband bought this for me under his account if BL needs to verify purchase.

This set is absolutely fabulous. I'm actually really grateful the Sonia g face brushes were out of stock or I never would have recieved this brush set. Never tried squirrel hair before.

When I first revieved them I was a little taken aback because they appear so small.....now I'm a believer and will purchase backups.

I cannot believe how amazingly and soft these brushes are. Wayne really knows what hes doing. Maybe because this is an older set theres not as much hype anymore....?!

The #3 #4 #6 I must buy MOAR. The #2 cheek brush is perfect to use with my CT filmstar bronze and glow....

You know that feeling when you see or experience something that's so amazing, you stutter like an idiot and find it difficult to articulate ?...That's this set.

I just cannot believe how well these brushes perform and how nice they are.

Never used squirrel hair before either, so theres that....

Simply outstanding collection. Truly.

Really like it

Recieved a sample from Beautylish. Typically niche shampoo products like this dont exactly put me over the moon, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I actually like this stuff. So much that I was bummed when my sample ran out, so I forked over the 33 bucks at Nordstrom to buy a new one.

It's just the perfect smell and shower experience in the hot summer weather when you're already feeling sticky sweaty and gross.

I like that it leathers too. Unexpected for me because the texture/appearance in the bottle is more watery if that makes sense.

A great alternative to the clarifying shampoo I was using once a month that tended to dry my hair out. This otoh does not do that. It still manages to remove all the build up and leaves your hair feeling squeaky clean without any dryness.

Still reccomend to follow up with conditioner and regular products you use. 10/10

yep

Really enjoy this brush. Recieved it in my lucky bag this year. I use it as a blush /bronzer brush. Haven't tried it for liquids. I noticed a few stray hairs but after the third or 4th washing I haven't had any issues.

Suprising this has quickly become my favorite blush brush lately

ok

little scratchy...but then again I typically prefer using beauty blenders or even my Sephora pro. For the price you can skip this one. I'd get her face one or sculpt one.

meh

It's an ok brush. The craftsmanship is nice.

I bought it to complete the pro eye set I had been gradually buying up piece by piece.

I much prefer the builder 3 over this one.

If you're looking for a tapered packer the Smith brushes have an arrowhead lay down packing brush.

I'd try those until.the restock of builder 3 which btw is also not tapered but it does pack on product really well.

This pro brush is too thin and flimsy for my taste. It's the brush I reach for the least and honestly I would return it if I wasn't such a completionist. I don't find anything to be too particularly magical or unique about how it supposedly digs in and applies "hardpanned" product either.

Builder 3 otoh does the trick

However good luck actually scoring one during a restock bc Beautylish will not place household purchasing limits on hoarders ...er "customers" during an anticipated restock 😒😒

Great brush

Great Brush. Really soft. Cant go back to cheaper brushes ever again. It's very durable and I dont find it necessary to wash more than 1x a week. It holds its shape well..no shedding.

ONE BRUSH is suffice enough for me as I'm not a makeup artist and bc of limited stock I want others to at least have a chance to buy one for themselves since they're constantly sold out. 🙄😒
