Beauty Product Reviews

Pigmented, buildable, though not for begginers!

My first thought on this palette would be IT IS UNIQUE! I would recomment it for experienced users however, because it takes a learning curve to get to know how to handle the different textures. All the shades are beautiful on their own, the mattes are soft and blendable, the shimmery shades are super creamy, however the molten metallic shades and also the midnight blue are tend to get hard pan. These last ones reminds me the Charlotte Tilbury Pop shades or some of the Natasha Denona pressed glitter shades in texture. The best is to use your fingers to apply them if you want the full colour payoff. For less impact a flat eyeshadow brush or a dense and firm dome shaped crease brush worked out for me the best. I would also reccomend to use one of the shimmery shades or a smudgeproof cream eyeshadow as a base for the molten metallics because they have somehow an oily consistency that tend to crease. Don't apply the molten metallics on top of the matte ones directly they wont adhere. In general I am really impressed with the quality and how beautifully combine all the colours together. Becca products have never disappointed me and Beautylish is my favorite site to shop on-line. Thank you guys again!

A stand alone palette for colorful elegant looks

I was hesitating to buy this palette for a long time. I have been searching for reviews and images about it on youtube and blogs but I could hardly find any. It catched my eyes by its beautiful presentation but I was not sure if it would be as useful as I expacted. Now, after a week of continous use I can tell its versatility exceeded my expectations! I put myself on a challenge, I decided to do my eyelook only using this palette every day during a whole week. I had a lot of fun and I liked this little jewel every day. I only paired it with some eyeliner and mascara and I could get some really sofisticated colorful looks to get compliments for. After completing my challenge I have collected some useful thought and tips on how to make the most out of these shades. First of all the quality of these shadows is just superb... they are incredible soft and smooth. I used Kevin Aucoin's SSE to prime my lids and tone down discolorations, then I applied the light matte shades to set it and to have a smooth base of color. The metalic shadows went on top really easy (with Sonia G Builder one I adore!!!) and the color pay off was realistic to the pan. The darkest shade is the golden metal in this palette and it has a smoky finish that I usually used in my crease along with the purple one. The green and blue ones are really pigmented in between the metalics and I usually put them in the center of the lid to make them pop. The rosy one, however, is more of a sheer finely mild glitter really nice on the lower lashline, for inner corner highlight or washed throughout the entire lid. I was suprised how I love these pastel mattes also, they serve as a base color and for smoothing out the edges of the metalic ones (I did not need to use the traditional neutral "transition shades"), even if you layer them on top the metalics you can achieve a satin finish look. All in all this palette is so versatile and the colors are not hursh but elegant. I personally think it would worth more attention of the beauty bloggers and youtubers. I also think it has a reasonable price tag being a By Terry product. I cannot recommend it enough for those who like to play with make up and get the most out of the everyday looks. I work in an office but part of my job is related to customers and I can stay at work using this palette without being overwhelming. It is beautiful to look at, the shades are smooth to apply and they blend and work together as a dream!

Multipurpose detail brush with elegant design

I am still experimenting with this beauty, after a week of use I can't tell how much I am surprised of its versatility and performance. I have seen other reviewers complaining about the handle and ferrule, for me it is excellent how this brush feels in my hand and gives me pleasant application also. I have done various looks with it, on myself and my colleges at wotk. It turned out to be easy to use with my Natasha Denona Aeris eyeshadow palette, not only for placing the glittery eyeshadows but to work on the lower lash line so precisely!!! I have done a nice cut crease with this brush, it works on every detailed part of the eyes: the crease, the lash lines, even as inner corner highlighter. The application is always precise and feels so smooth on these hard to reach areas, I cannot be happier with it!! Thank you Sonia and Beautylish, thanks a lot!

The most beautiful brushes out there

My first statment is that I don't own this set, unfortunately. I would like to have them so bad, but cannot afford the investment on one shot. I've been following Sonia G.'s blog since a year by now her opinion guided me through the Wayne Goss and Chikuhodo collections to make sure I pick up the ones suites me. When her set came out I was sure she must have done something different. Now I can tell I was right even I still could not take my hand on these jewels! I have read all the reviews and have seen the videos some of you have shared on Youtube, by the way I really appreciate you did because it made me imagine how would they perform if I would have them!!! I imagine how soft they are, I can even feel the weight in my hand and touch of their luxurious handles. I can hadrly wait for the moment when they will be available individually to purchase them one by one, 'cuase definitely will buy every single one of them. Dear Beautylish team and Sonia, please release them individually soon!

Building up your regimen with Ordinary is challenging but it worth your effort.

Here is the story of how I have found the most efficient products of this line to cover all the necessary consern of my skin and build up my daily skincare routine.

I beleive in Ordinary, my skin has not been so well since years! I am 38 with combination, aging skin sometimes I have breakouts, usually I have blackheads. My most important consern was to deal with hyperpigmentation since now I live in a tropical country and have fair skin cannot stand the sun anymore. Based on my experience you can just start to buy only what you miss in your routine as I did at the beginning, or if you want to switch to this line completely you can do it as well, as I did during the last 8 months. Yes it took time for me to find out which were the best products for each and every needs of my skin.

I have started with the basics to see how the line works, so I picked up a non-greasy moisturiser Natural Moisturising Factors + HA along with a night-time use oil the 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil. With these two I dont need to use any other moisturiser. I also use them around the eye area since they don't carry any fragrance. The Rose Hip oil I use for face massages that leaves my skin as smooth as it was 20 years before! I also wanted to try the Glycolic Acid Toning Solution 7% but was never available, finally a month ago I took my hand on it and I love it also. I was really satisfied with how these products perfomed on my skin, how easily sinked the moisturiser in, how smooth was the oil.

So, I decided to look for something to fade my dark spots. First I have tried the Azaleic Acid Suspension 10%, I went through the whole tube but I could not see much difference on my hyperpigmented areas, however I really liked the consistence of this suspension and felt silky on my skin, altough I think it is rather for smoothing the texture and cleaning the pores.

My next purchase included Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA, thanks to the impressing photos of Nora H about the improvement this product made on her face. Now I can tell also IT WORKS! I whish I had taken some pictures before using this product to show you the difference in 3 months I have achieved with it! It is so awesome that I have swiched my full coverage foundation routine to a lightweight BB cream, what I thought would never happen. Along with this product also purchased the Argireline Solution 10% what I mainly use around my eyes and the mouth twice a day. At firts I did not like its watery consistency, but the fines lines has smoothened out and I see now it is a good product. The third one of this box was Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1 % I keep using every morning and I can tell beside the refreshing gel consistency I see my pores soothened and the redness on my cheek and chin has been reduced. I don’t know if these results occured because of this particular product but my skin feels and looks a lot better since these three are working on it.

My last purchase I have only made a month ago, but one of the products deserves a review already. That one is the Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalene, wow!! it is a real-time treatment, using it only two times you feel the improvement of your skin texture. I was really blown away how smooth and silky felt my skin after only two-night-use. Since then I cannot resist to use it every night, I only skip it when I put the peeling mask on. I have read reviews on retinoids but I have never used one before, I was prepared for some tingling or drying sensation, but it went on like a milky lotion, it is true however that it takes a couple of minutes to absorb and it leaves a bit of a tackiness but I always put my Rose Hip oil on the top so this feeling goes away instantly.

My skincare routine is complete now and I only wish Ordinary carried a cleansing balm/lotion and some sunscreen with high protection I still need to purchase from other brands.

So here is the break down of my complex skincare routine I have builded up by now: Morning steps: Cleanse with non-alcoholic lotion 1) Glycolic Acid Toning Solution 7% 2) Argireline Solution 10% (around the eyes and mouth) 3) Coffeine Solution 5% + EGCG (around the eyes) 4) Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1 % 5) Natural Moisturising Factors + HA 6) Sunscreen 7) BB cream  LOL Evening steps Ceansing balm or oil to remove make-up 1) Glycolic Acid Toning Solution 7% 2) Argireline Solution 10% (around the eyes and mouth) 3) Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA 4) Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalene 5) 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil

In addition I use the AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution twice a week, started a month ago still early to give my opinion.

Perfect shade - bad formula

At least for my combination skin it did not work. And I tried so hard to make it work it is crackig and peels of my nose and chin area whatever I use to mix with it. I have also tried the luminous primer someone was reviewing to work, for me it did not. I have mixed it with variuos other foundations and also with sunscreen creams. The least worked the best, however with this price I really expected something much better! Sorry to say that, because I do like all of my other Becca products. The only good point on this was the shade match with my fair/light skin with olive undertone for me usually hard to achive with only one shade of foundation.

Nice and smooth finishing powder

I have the little one from the Neo Trio I have got in hands a week ago and I am using it on an everyday basis as my finishing powder. It is true that it has a spray over, but it is the most beautiful rose shifted champagne highlight you would not like to loose. It would only serve you at the beginning, once it is gone you got to the powder, OMG, so smooth and has a slightly pearlescent finish (e.g. like Guerlain Meteorites). I love it, it makes me look flawless with a nice blur effect and it doesn't get greasy on my combination skin. I still reserve the highlight on one end and just use the opposite. :)

Heavenly soft and blendable

These are the most beautiful and blendable blushed have ever touched my face! However my complexion is fair (CT Magic foundation No.2 e.g.) I always tend to reach for more pigmented blushes and use a light hand. I find the color payoff nicer if you use a pigmented but blendable blush. Warm Golden Berry gives my cheeks a healthy flush, and I also like to use it for draping, looks amazing. The light shade I use to blend out the edges and it also works as a subtil highlight. I can hardly wait to purchase more of these high quality blushes, unfortunately the colors I would like to buy (02,06,13 and 19) have been out of stock since a while. Dear Beautylish Team, I would like to thank for your 'beautyful' packaging and careful handling! And, please, renew your stock on these blushes! OXOX
