Beauty Product Reviews

A good moisterizer

It has a very cooling feeling, which I love! I have very acne prone skin that can be either very oily or very dry, and this is perfect. It's light, and really does moisturize, unlike many other moisturizers that I've used. And best of all, it doesn't break me out :D

So difficult to work with!

I'm not really sure how people can get such nice swatches of Sinful Colors polishes. I've seen 4 different people (including myself) try 4 different ones--two cremes, two shimmers--and all have been streaky, uneven, and just so frustrating! I had "Gorgeous," which is a nice aqua/green/teal duochrome, but I needed 3 coats to get a nice, smooth surface. My cousin tried on a white creme, and it looked even worse, because you could see each and every individual line/flaw that wouldn't even out on its own. The glitters are pretty good, though. Cons: -Uneven application Pros: -cheap. At my Target, they're like $1.50 -comes in a variety of colors and textures -Resistant to chipping -Glitters are of a higher quality

The topcoat to have!

Dang why does this thing have to have such toxic ingredients?! This is the best topcoat I've ever used. If you paint your nails starting from your thumb to your pinky, by the time you finish painting your pinky with this, your thumb will be dry. It creates such a thick, glossy, and smooth seal. Believe the hype, it's all worth it.

DDD:

Ugh I really really wanted to like this! I heard great things about the Revlon Photo-Ready Concealer, but I didn't have access to it, and this was the next closet thing. My god this conceals NOTHING! It's ridiculously waxy. I know this is kind of targeted for undereye circles, but I got it for the purpose of concealing my breakouts. Over active breakouts, this just caked up. Over acne scars, this just kind of dissolved and looked like I didn't apply anything. Sorry, didn't work out for me :(

Overall, good c:

Throughout the summertime, I went running everyday, wearing nothing but layers and layers of this sunscreen. I was a bit concerned, because I'm ridiculously acne-prone, and the combination of sweat, open pores, and a product on my face worried me. For three whole months of just wearing this, I didn't break out one bit. This is the only sunscreen I can handle, because it really is lightweight. You can feel it on your skin, but it's not like a deadweight, that you're constantly aware of.

The first foundation I've liked a lot..

Before trying this out, I was using Covergirl's NatureLuxe foundation on a daily basis. I'm not sure I'm going to go back. I have dry, patchy, and rough skin, but this smoothed over nicely. I'm also extremely acne-prone--not a day has gone by since the 6th grade without me having at least a few zits. I wouldn't say this foundation worsened anything, but I'm not sure if it's doing anything to help, either. This is a medium to /almost/ full coverage, but definitely not complete coverage. I can get away with just this and no concealer, if my skin's being nice. As far as I can tell, this doesn't get cakey unless you don't apply a TON, so I'm not sure if this foundation is ideal for layering. This is only my second foundation ever, but I'll probably repurchase :D

Best drugstore nail polish!

Revlon makes exceptional nail polish for the drugstore. I have had "Electric Pink," a hot pink creme, for a few months, and it still has a smooth and creamy consistency. The application is nice, with two coats at most. The quality of Revlon polishes are very high up there, with Essie and OPI. I actually like its quality more than China Glaze's.

As a plain old lip balm, it's alright.

I was suckered into the adorable packaging -___- It's kind of awkward to carry around in your pockets, though. When my lips are cracked and just messed up from the cold, these cute lip balms won't do anything for me. If my lips are just a bit dry, not chapped yet, they work alright. I must say, though, they're better than Chapstick, and *shudders* Softlips. Those two make me breakout around my mouth. EOS, though, has yet to do so, which I appreciate. These don't keep my lips moisturized the WHOLE day, but overall, these are nice. Sweet Mint's my favorite c:
